Had a very strange dream the other night, wonder if you could interpret? I was in a room that had no floor, except for the corner of the room there was a couch and a bed made of hay.The middle of the room, where the floor was missing, was filled with deep water, dark, thrashing. My boyfriend and I were resting on the hay bed, while on the couch were two cats, and six kittens.I noticed that there were two very long, big snakes slithering towards us.I saw there was a cloth bag,I picked up both snakes in one hand, and threw them in it.I laid back down on the hay,and my boyfriend started to kiss me gently. We both started to fall asleep, then out of the corner of my eye,I saw the snakes escape the bag.I wanted to throw them back in the bag,but they disappeared, and I figured they fell in the murky waters. Then we slept together in the dream, holding each other, the moon and stars shining through the window. I thought it was very strange because i never had a dream where I watched myself sleeping.Nor have I ever had a dream about snakes, which I feel, may be a bad omen.Well,if you think you may know what any of it means, let me know. Peace to you,Eliza Libra/Scorpio/Aquarius

I've heard that snakes are a very positive image in dreams. IP: Logged |

Hello Eliza I don't know for sure what it all means, but there seems to be a sexual tone to the symbology. I'm making some notes from that perspective, although there are certainly other possibilities. I'll be back asap with some thoughts. Snakes can mean any number of things, and as GeminiLover said, many of them are positive. How did you feel about the snakes while in the dream? IP: Logged |

Hi Eliza,I too would be interested in how you felt about the snakes. Also tell me more about what the cats mean to you, the water, the hay & the guy you're with. If I have background info I fancy myself a fairly good dream interpreter. ------------------ "When the student is ready the teacher will appear" IP: Logged |

Okay, here are some thoughts ...First, two of the same animal can indicate the movement of unconscious material into conscious awareness (two cats and two snakes). Then, the missing part of the floor with the water underneath suggests the exposure of unconscious and/or emotional energies which are underlying some current issue/situation. This issue/situation could be sexual in nature, as both cats/kittens and snakes can represent feminine and masculine energies, respectively. It could be suggested that this issue has to do with mature feminine energies (cats) coupled with new (kittens) sexual or love energies (six). Perhaps you are at first able to 'contain' the masculine energies which affect you (put snakes in bag)(... snakes can be a phallic symbol), but eventually it "escapes", or is otherwise released, disappearing into your unconscious, put out of your mind ... or overwhelmed/consumed by emotional energy (fell into waters). I'm not quite sure how to put that in the context of a real issue ... got any ideas? Does any part of that make sense to you? IP: Logged |

Ra, I am interested in the universal symbolisms as mentioned in your last reply. I never thought about numerology in dreams. There are many things I have yet to learn. I think I'll probably get more out of visiting AR than the dreamers will get from me. My specialty is nightmares. I've had way too many, & I've helped friends & fam with theirs. One day soon I will post a few of my dreams, so you can get a glimpse. IP: Logged |

Hey GeminiLover,Kim,and Ra,thanks for replying!Ive been busy with a new job. But yes, when holding the snakes I didnt feel afraid or disgusted,I felt comfortable picking them up,but irritated?I feel like I sighed when I put them in the bag like, here we go again or something. The hay was a little scratchy.I felt the cats were nice, but both males and I thought it was strange they had kittens.I felt I was used to the water being there, but it was rough and more out of control than usual.I felt I really loved the man I was with, but was hoping he felt the same way.I remember something weird about me asking him if he thought the sides of my face were ugly(I didnt include that the first time,I probably should have but I felt it was really strange?)I definitely see some kind of sexuality in this dream, and strong emotional overtone.I have been feeling very emotional lately, crying out of nowhere or something.I recently got back together with my boyfriend,we had broken up for a few months,he started going to college and I got a new job.Everything is going pretty great, except for one thing that might have to do with it.During lovemaking,I have a sexual problem, that kind of inhibits me from really enjoying it.I have never been able to "follow through" or as others call it,climax. Not alone or with a lover,I am not sure why,I have went to the Doctor and they cant see anything wrong with me.They said it might be a subconscious block or something. When I was a child,I went through a short amount of time where I was sexually abused by a friend of the family, and I guess now looking at your interpretation, this all fits the description. The whole subconscious thing is that no matter how hard I try to remember, all I can remember about the abuse is a man coming into my room at night saying "shhh" walking towards me.I was about four or five and probably blocked most of it out.So the whole thing about the water in the middle of the room, may have to do with that somehow.I am sorry if I disturbed you with what I wrote here,I know it isnt a pleasant subject, but I am getting over it day by day.Thank you guys for your incredible interpretations,RA,I think you hit the nail on the head with everything you said.Let me know if you feel anything else with the rest of the desciptions I wrote here.I am hoping something in the dream meant I am getting over it,and not just hiding it in the back of my mind still.Thank you so much,PeaceLove and Light to you, ElizaIP: Logged | |
