Hi Ra,

some help with this dream please: my bf just broke up with me and I had this dream in which he picked me up from my place and we got on a train just for fun to go visit my family. I was happy with him and he was happy with me. We were going to my family's place in the suburbs and I was telling him about the place and the different stops. Suddenly the train stops and I got off. I remember that we were supposed to have a quick trip and go back to our place later because he had to go to work later and it was an impromptu trip. Anyway, when I got off the train, I suddenly forgot the right station stop and I went to look out for it. But it was so cold outside, I was freezing, and just realized that I didn't dress warmly enough for it was the winter there and we were coming from a warm climate. I kept running around looking for help and as I do so, I realized that I was losing my breadth, suffocating. I finally found one girl who took her sweet time to help me and she led me inside to a warmer room full of passengers on their way to other places themselves. As we had to get to that place, the train in which my ex was left slowly and I realizd the rails were suspended in the air, like the overpassed trains from the airport to the subways.
Obviously it relates to how I am feeling now in my subconscious but I wanted to have more detailed interpretation.

Hello cappy

Definately, the dream reflects how you are now feeling. I'll break down some of the symbols for you and get back to you as soon as possible.

Okay ...

The train ride represents the relationship between you and your ex, and seems to indicate your feelings about how the relationship was going, or where it was headed, in your mind (going to visit family/both happy). But suddenly you are out of the relationship ("suddenly the train stops, and I get off").

The dream then suggests that you were unprepared (didn't dress warmly enough) for the end (winter) of the relationship. You feel lost and helpless (running around looking for help) and are having difficulty releasing emotional energy effectively at the moment (losing breath). The cold weather also suggests that you have "frozen", or not allowed yourself to experience, some of the emotion around this, because it is too much, all at once. In time this will "thaw" a bit at a time so that you can better deal with it. In fact, that is part of the reason that the emotion is being symbolized rather than experienced outright in the dream ... the actual emotion is "cold" or "frozen", not experienced all the way. See what I mean?

It is then suggested that, as time creates distance from this issue (train left slowly with ex) and you gain a different perspective, there may come the realization that ("I realized") the relationship may not have been grounded the way you thought in the first place (rails suspended in air).

What do you think?
