Very odd one last night!

I dreamt I was very heavily pregnant and that just before I was about to give birth, we found out it was twins. In fact, in the dream I remember thinking that I wasn't at full term and so it was odd that the babies should be so big if they were premature.

I gave birth (and felt the pain during the dream) to 2 twin girls. My partner was ecstatic and was full of love for me and our daughters. And then something odd happened. The girls grew into children over night! The twin who'd been born first grew into a 9 yr old girl and the younger twin grew into a 6 yr old. There was also something slightly sinister about the eldest girl. I felt she was hiding something from me and had an unhealthy control over her younger sister.

It was very much like that film about the women who were impregnated by aliens and then the children grew up incredibly quickly.

I took the girls to see my mother and she sensed something odd as well. Strangely enough, no one but me saw anything unusual in the fact that they'd grown overnight but my mum sensed that there was something slightly 'worrying' in the eldest girl.

The dream just ended there but it's left me feeling quite strange. I feel the broodiness of wanting a baby with my partner but still can't shake the feeling of unease at the eldest child in the dream.

Just told my partner about it and he came out with something interesting - when I told him the ages of the girls (9 and 6) he said put them together and look at the symbol; Yin and Yang or Cancer/Pisces. Interesting observation eh?

He told me that he used to have this dream where he'd be walking alone down the left hand side of a street at night and the left hand side of the street was derelict with run down houses (or houses that were being refurbished)whilst the right hand side would be blank/dark.

As he walked he caught sight of a baby crawling just by the side of him. The baby kept looking up at him and he had the feeling he had to protect it, and so would try to pick it up, but it would always be just out of reach.

He said that sometimes the baby would be slightly evil looking and the feeling in the dream would be sinister.

I think the interesting thing about that dream in particular is the left vs right aspect. One side of him is fine and yet the other side was derelict or being 'done up'. Put that with the baby, and I think it possibly means that there was a side of him at that time in his life that had yet to be born or perhaps re-born. It was in need of nurture and protection. Sometimes, it's raw nature and wildness frightened him but he always knew he had to look after it and take care of it and refurbish it.

*edit* Just thought about it again and the fact that he was on the left hand side is interesting - left side of brain controlled by right side which is imagination/creativity etc.

Hello Cardinalgal

I think you are right about your partner's dream, and I believe your dream is similar. There is the classic theme here of the 'evil twin', which indicates confliction, perhaps internal, and since the one is older, we have an imbalance.

What else does 9 represent? Conception, birth, power ... whatever it means to you, it seems to have an unconscious, secret, or otherwise "dark" influence over another aspect of yourself ... 6.

What does 6 mean? Love, the senses, harmony ... what does it mean to you?

And since these are girls, could we be dealing with emotional, or intuitional aspects of self?

If this is not an internal confliction, does it relate to your outer life? Or is this about confliction at all? Whatever it is, it grows disproportionate "overnight".

What do you think?

Hi Ra Thanks for your thoughts - you are as ever, spot on!

My mum's actually come up with an interesting theory. She picked up on the fact that the number 9 is Aries/Mars energy (my opposite sign) and the number 6 is Libran love/harmonious energy - put the two together in symbol form and you have the sign of Cancer (my asc). So she thinks it's maybe the birth of my ability to combine the two energies in order to embrace the essence of my Asc which is something I've always had trouble with.

I've always got cross with the tears and sensitivity of my Cancerian Asc as my Cappy Moon wants to solve emotional problems practically and methodically without fuss or attention. My Libran Sun hasn't wanted to see anything but the beauty or the charm of a situation and so poor old Cancer's been rather left to see to herself.

I think I'm now beginning to pay attention to my Asc and embrace the qualities it gives me rather than trying to surpress it. Cancer being the maternal sign, perhaps that's also why the birth imagery?

I think the fact that everyone else was so happy and failed to see the oddness of the situation is that perhaps if I can manage to integrate all sides of me, I'll be an easier person to be around at difficult times?

Perhaps so.

You certainly would know better how to fill in the blanks than I.

What an interesting dream Cardinalgal!!

And the way you and your guy interpreted it is just brilliant! RA

I just wanted to add something that you know but probably never noticed: In tarot cards, # 6 corresponds to The Lovers card (=love, commitment and the right choice) and # 9 to The Hermit (=caution, isolation and prudence)!

Hi Peri and Ra

Wow I hadn't thought of that! And in the dream I remember I liked the 6yr old better and felt awful for it because I kept reminding myself I shouldn't have favourites or feel suspicious of my own daughter (the 9 yr old). Thanks Peri - puts an interesting slant on things.

Well, I get completely lost with most of the astrological points, and tarot too, but I love how all the perspectives here intertwine, while each is based upon a different "discipline".
