Hi Ra & co.,

I had a very intense dream last night involving my left arm. I am left-handed, just so you know. I will do my best to recount the dream, and if you need any clarification let me know!!

All I remember is that suddenly I couldn't move my left arm and it hurt when I did. Then it started like ripping open, so I was yelling for my mom to call 911 so I could go to the hospital and have it sewn back together.
While I was waiting for her I walked to the kitchen and my arm was almost fallen off completely. I remember thinking: "If they can't fix my arm then I'll just kill myself."

My arm fell off completely and next thing I know I'm on the phone with 911 emergency because my mom is too slow. It's really staticky. I couldn't remember my address so I was asking my little brother (10 years old) to tell me it while I spoke to the woman on the phone. Then I realized she wasn't even talking to me, she was talking to my mom.

Next thing I know my arm is back on but still very open and bloody and disgusting and I'm in the room listening to my mom's side of the 911 call. We wrapped frozen banana bread in a towel around my arm as an ice pack.

All conversation from this point on was in French. Including the 911 call.

From what I understood they wouldn't take me to the hospital because the doctor who does this kind of surgery had just left the office. I was very upset and angry. Suddenly we are in a room in the house with a man lying back against a chair on the ground, sorting through files on his lap. He seems to be explaining why I can't go to the hospital.

The second part of my dream I am standing on top of a huge hill, my left arm bandaged with my towel and banana bread, holding my laptop computer in my right arm (which is also trying to support my left arm). I knew I was going to drop the laptop down the hill. And so it fell from my arms and I started trying to chase it but it would slip farther and farther away.

Then I saw it crash at the bottom and these French ladies picked it up, so I went to see them and asked for my laptop. They told me they had no way of knowing it was mine and that it was broken anyway. (in French)

Then they hooked it up to their computer or something to try to fix it.

That's all I remember right now. I woke up convinced my arm was about to fall off if I moved it, so I lay perfectly still. Then I felt my left arm with my right hand to make sure it was in tact, and i began to move it slowly. I sighed in relief at the fact that it was all just a dream.

It should be added that the place of the injury was just on the forearm. When it fell off it was closer to the elbow. It wasn't injured past the elbow at any point in time.

Sorry for the length of the dream, but I hope I can get some useful insight from it. Thanks!!

Hello shirty

I'll have a look at this just as soon as I can.

What's with all the French? What's your connection with French or France?

Hi Ra!

Well I grew up in a French and English environment as I lived in Quebec for most of my life and just moved to Ottawa, Canada, where there is a pretty large french population. I've never been to France, however.

I am bilingual but my French is not as good as my English.

Thanks, take your time!

Hi shirty

Well, I'll give you some of the thoughts I have and you tell me what you think.

The first part of the dream could suggest that you are having some sort of difficulty concerning feminine aspects of self (left arm injured), some sort of difficulty using them, or reaching out, or reaching in (arm). Feminine aspects would include receptivity, emotions, feelings, intuition, nurturance ... something like this, something about yourself, is not being "heard", or you feel you are not getting proper attention (mom too slow/phone static). Psychologically or mentally, you feel lost (can't remember address). Whatever this issue is, the dream could suggest that it can make you "very upset and angry".

Any idea what it is/was? (just before the time of the dream)

The second part of the dream seems similar. It could be suggested that you are trying to balance a lot of things, issues in your life, but are having difficulty (injured arm/dropped laptop). It could be indicated that you are not listening to your inner voice, not paying attention to your intuition (laptop slips farther away). And again ... the French ladies could symbolize your intuition, your inner voice, which is attempting to help you (ladies try to fix laptop), but is not perfectly clear, not as well understood as could be (French).

Does any of this make sense to you?
