I'm sorry about all the mess and fuss a while back.

Why don't I meet the guy of my affection in my dreams as frequent as I used to any more?

As I'm writing this, I suddenly recalled another dream I had- in my dream, my father is trying to endanger my life, then the guy shows up and everything ends. It was a very, very intense dream. Apparently, the guy's presence prevents my father from sabotaging my life- in the dream.

Well, would you rather have him in your real life, or in your dream world? It looks as if you kind of idealize him in the dream realm, and it is certainly safe to do so, but would this idealization of him hold true in waking life? Can he be that person who you relate with in your dreams? Perhaps you subconsciously fear that it cannot be so, ever, in the 'real' world, and so prefer to dream of him, where it is safe?

Now, about your father, you have mentioned this before. What is at the root of this type of dream? What did your father do to "sabotage" or "endanger" you? What is your relationship with him?

I have idealized the guy, but with realistic appreciation for his qualities, not putting him on a pedestal. This might sound strange, but I want him both in my waking life and in my dreams.
