Before describing the dream, it will be helpful to relate that before going to sleep I was studying some teachings of Osho and he was telling of the need to bring out past wounds and compassionately observe..not judge, not think, just observe..I think that has great relevence here! I had made it through a couple of wounds and began to address my late husband when I fell asleep.

The dream---

I found myself once again back living with my late husband (who committed suicide amlost 6 years ago, while we were going through a divorce and was a very emotionally and verbally abusive alcoholic.) In the dream he was once again drunk as all of my dreams are about him and I knew in the dream as I always do where dreams of him are concerned, that he was dead then all of a sudden I find myself with him again. Anyway he was complaining that I was having a "holiday" and I knew me meant vacation although I reside as he did in the US and that term has never been used between us. He was trying to purchase a new turck and was beligerantly angry with me because I was "on holiday" and he was not. I soon woke to the sound of the alarm clock and got up to see where he was, which I often did when we were married and he was outside in the early morning hours leaning on his truck very drunk. So for some reason I decide to take a walk and I was watching the family down the street (the dad another alcoholic) get his kids on the bus and I looked up in the sky and the stars were quite otherworldly. There were more stars than sky and I remember thinking to myself.."those constellations are beautiful!" I was also coming to a decision to leave him and making plans for school and my kids.... Then out of nowhere comes this black car with this black clothed individual in it---got the feeling of law enforcement, but of the vigilante kind and he catches this very ugly, gross "man" who was very white, almost painted white skin with some metal projections coming out of his head. This vigilante man then tells the being " I have always wanted to do this to you" and as I stood near and watched, he cut the being's head from the sides of the mouth back toward the base of the skull. I was shocked and thought to myself that thing is surely dead now, when all of a sudden the being starts to grow these metal wires out of the cut areas and reconnected his anatomy and the wires continued to grow out of his head and I thought to myself "he is somekind of a puppet now!"

I awoke quite startled and way too scared to go back to sleep for quite some time.

I am only seeing a little symbolism here and could use the help of an objective individual!

Thanks and Blessings

Terri

Hello Terri

Looks like Osho helped pull something out. I love Osho.

I'm going to need another day on this one. Back soon.

Okay ...

Your Osho studies are most definately relevant here. The first part of the dream certainly reflects past wounds and dynamics concerning your late husband, that much is easy to see. The last part of the dream is what we need to figure out. What are the vigilante and the "being" saying about the wound you are attempting to expose and heal?

Beginning with the starry sky, this could indicate a higher level of awareness is being activated. (Osho, anyone?)

Now, this black car and black clothed man is where I was getting hung up. It took a little searching, but I believe I found an answer. A Jungian analyst by the name of Clarissa Pinkola Estes (author of Women Who Run With the Wolves) says that a "dark man" (not necessarily skin colour, but feeling/actions) in a woman's dream can indicate that something is wrong in the woman's life, or that vital energies are being drained, or - and this is what I think is relevant - the "dark man" can "announce the liberation of a "captive" function in her psyche ... he heralds the imminence of a change from one level of functioning to another, more mature level." (quoted from Sandra Thomson) That makes a whole heap of sense, don't you think? Isn't that what you are consciously trying to do?

As far as the "being" is concerned, his whiteness contrasts with the "dark man", suggesting the battle going on within self to release this past wound, as well as your own recognition (at least subconsciously) that this wound/energy needn't control you ("he is some kind of puppet now").

Looks to me like you are making some important progress.

What do you think?

O, my I think that is awesome!!!

My dreams are getting more and more complex and just throw me for a loop sometimes!!!

It dawned on me the other day, that I currently have Uranus transiting my 4th house and within 2 degrees of my Pisces sun...I AM making changes within...and the interpretation of the dark man symbolism liberating a captive function is so appropriate, especially when one considers the 4th represents the past and mother and alot of my issues have to do with my mother (and her parenting skills in the past) that I project onto my relations in adulthood!!!

And I love what you have to say about the darkman/white being thing!

Thank you!!!

Blessings~~~
