Ok, I'm weirded out by this dream. Last night I was too hot in bed and breaking a sweat - I should have known to just take some blankets off, because I tend to have weird/disturbing dreams when I'm too hot.

So... me and my bf went to a Van Halen concert, in what was like a small theatre... that part of the dream was fine, but after we left the concert we were walking home (in another city, not our hometown) and walking uphill a dog came out of one of the yards and started following us. I was scared because I'm always nervous about dogs I don't know. It started showing its teeth, and then two other dogs joined it and they were following us and kind of circling. I was so freaked by it because it seemed like they might get vicious. My bf agreed we should get inside someone's house, so we rushed to a house where I think the light was on, and knocked on the door. A lady let us in so we could use the phone to call Dog Control. She lived in this house, which was small, with a young daughter, and their bedroom was at the front of the house and they had white net curtains. The lady had dark hair and biggish eyes, and I would describe her as kind of weird or creepy, but in the dream she didn't creep me out. Something about her house was odd, kind of like it was another realm... my subsconscious?? (I just thought of the Red Room in Twin Peaks by David Lynch... it kind of had that feeling to it - and now that I think of it, the lady reminds me slightly of Mrs Palmer from Twin Peaks). I was just pleased to be in a safe place where I could get help. I asked her what the address was so that Dog Control could come, and she said "479 Covenant Street" - and I repeated, "479 Covenant".

Umm... so yeah when I woke up I made a mental note of those numbers so I wouldn't forget them. It seems creepy.

So far, all I've read about animals in dreams is that they can represent your animal nature - so does my dream mean that I'm scared of my animal nature, or scared of my anger? (Honestly I'm not consciously aware of this). Or is it that dogs are loyal, but these dogs were threatening, that maybe I have fear of someone turning on me?? None of this really seems 100% right.

And the numbers/street address... what is the covenant about? 4, 7 and 9 - stability, philosophy, eternity? I don't get it. I don't know enough about numerology and when I have a strange dream I don't understand I get worried that it's a creepy message.

Please help with this?

Also I should add that the lady in my dream wasn't a young mother - she seemed to be more like in her fifties maybe, but her daughter was very young. Maybe she was actually her grandmother. It seems like I'm in between their ages... am I having a recurring theme about generations of women (as in my other dream), or am I making too loose an interpretation? Are the lady and the little girl aspects of myself?

Is the covenant with myself/my higher self? If so, what does this mean? Or is it to do with thoughts of getting married?? (Me and my bf have recently been invited to a wedding).

I would really like to understand this... I still don't seem to be getting anything that 'clicks' 100%.

Thank you for being so patient.

The dream could suggest that there is situation/issue, perhaps concerning or affecting your relationship, which is taking some effort (walking uphill) and is making you nervous and scared, and maybe a little "freaked" (vicious dogs). You suggested that maybe you fear someone turning on you and so that is certainly a possibility.

The dream suggests that relief can be had by making some sort of pact/"covenant", but I'm not sure in what manner. Maybe, as you said, it is with yourself or your higher self. The numbers could provide a clue, but there are so many possibilities. 479 can be reduced to 2, which can represent conflict, duality, a need for balance, etc. It can also represent marriage, so maybe the wedding you mentioned is indeed a factor here.

Taken separately, 4-7-9 could represent foundations(4) of spiritual(7) power(9), along with a number of other possibilities. Your beliefs about numbers certainly plays a large part in how to interpret them.

Does anything in particular strike a chord?

Is this dream a reflection of your thoughts/feelings about marriage? Does part of you percieve it as an "uphill" journey in which your mate could "turn on you"?

Thank you Ra! I've been thinking about this dream on and off since I posted it, and still not really coming up with anything.

Just today we were walking somewhere and there was a vicious breed of dog out walking with its owner and it wasn't even on a leash... so of course I was freaked b/c I just hate that. It's always a situation I don't like. But what it could represent in a dream I still haven't really figured out.

I don't really have any specific beliefs about numbers because all the things I've read are so varied. 4 is one of my mother's favourite numbers, 9 was my grandmother's, and 7 seems to mean something spiritual to me but I'm not sure what. I always visualise numbers as a series of dots arranged in symmetrical patterns, and 7 seems like a complete pattern of four dots on the bottom row and three dots on the top row. For some reason there's something about that in my mind. BUT whether any of this means anything in my dream I couldn't say.

Ok here's a thought about the first part. The *circumstances* of my relationship have been an uphill battle. I *have* felt attacked by others. Because of that, I haven't had a real sense of security the past couple of years. You could say my whole life was uprooted and I didn't feel supported, and most of the time it doesn't take much for the "dogs to turn on me". I do wish for a sense of security or taking refuge at times. Hmm. Very interesting... thanks for bringing that to the surface with your suggestion!

I'll continue to think about the other points you raised!
