We had a drought that left us 40 inches behind in rain, and then it rained so much that we were 40 inches ahead! I was driving my car on top of the water like a boat and turned corners putting my hand out the window to grab things to help guide my car and keep it stable while turning. I was going somewhere and had to be there by midnight. Any ideas what all this meant? ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

Hi Randall Another short, yet intriguing dream. I have the same thoughts. I am reminded of forty days and forty nights, wandering in the wilderness for forty years, Ali Baba and the forty theives, etc. Forty is a peculiar number. And then there is midnight, the witching hour, the time of change and transformation. Are we not approaching "midnight", even as a planet? I live in Atlanta, so I know the drought is in the forefront of your mind, but combining this imagery with the other symbols, what does it mean? Is it a personal message having to do with the ebb and flow of emotional/unconscious/life energies? Or is it something more expansive and encompassing than that? Randall, can you describe any feelings you may have had during the dream? How did you feel about it upon awakening? And how do you feel about it now? Walk in Peace IP: Logged |

I felt good about the dream. It wasn't a foreboding feeling at all. I was looking forward to where I was going, and I was glad that the flood wasn't stopping me. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." Glad some of those people gave me an award. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." Hi Randall On the most mundane and personal level, the dream could suggest that there has been, or will be, a great release of emotional energies from your unconscious (flood). It seems that, instead of the usual overwhelming that this kind of release can bring, you are very much in control and "on top" of it, allowing the flow of these energies to help guide you through. The number forty seems to be suggesting something, but I don't know what. Star Signs says 40 is the same as 31, which is the Hermit/Recluse. ??? Does anyone have any more ideas about 40? There also seems to be a subtle sense of urgency or maybe expectation associated with having to be somewhere by midnight, but I do not know how that fits in, or if it does. What do you think? In astrology 4 is a Uranian number.Could midnight signify a time limit set on a goal? Could Uranus (40) signify your goal? suggesting a loose plan in reaching this goal? One prone to unexpected or unconventional twists and turns? Could it be that you were able to drive your car/boat with minimal interference, on the very thing you were worried about (rain) which you now have in abundance? Suggest that you did or are doing better than you expected in reaching this goal? I don't know if 40 breaks down to the number 4 so I could be totally off track here, still it's interesting and fun to try and apply astrology to dream interps.
