I've been browsing this forum for awhile looking for topics on this but I've found few recent ones. So, I figured I'd bring it up myself.

Since I was about 13 I've experienced sleep paralysis. The first time I did I remember being "tapped" on the shoulder only to realize I couldn't move when I really felt I needed to. After awhile I was lifted up then "dropped" off the side of my bed. I felt myself falling. Somehow I ended back on my bed but I still couldn't move for awhile. When I finally did get up I was completely terrified.

After that happened I had very similar episodes of this frequently. Sometimes up to 4 times a week but most of the time I was only held down, unable to move. Sometimes, I'd hear something say my name before I felt the pressure on my shoulders but I've yet to hear the screams, or other strange voices I've heard usually accompany the paralysis.

At this point I can "feel" when it's going to happen and I'm also able to push whatever I feel is holding me down away, and then I roll over and go back to sleep but recently I "felt" it coming but not the way it usually does. I felt farther "under" than I usually do when it happens. Then when it finally did happen I felt myself being lifted up but I quickly shook myself out of it and woke up completely.

I'm fairly sure I can control it now, and for a long time I've been able to relax myself enough to feel myself "falling" but I usually try not to do that because that still scares me.

I'd just like more information on this, and maybe some reassurance that I'm not completely crazy. Thanks.

Hey, I've had sleep paralysis but it sounds like your more on the verge of astral projection. Ive only had sleep paralysis happen to my a couple of times but it is nothing like u describe.

Usually what happens is that I wake up and I can open my eyes but I can't move for what feels like a couple of min. Its frightening. I read up on it and its a hormone thats secreted while u are sleeping. And some people will wake up before the actually hormone has moved through your body. So in a sense u are paralysed.

Ive read quite a bit on astral projecting and thats what it sound like your symptoms are. Maybe u shouyld read up on that. And if u are consider yourself lucky. Very few people can achieve them.

I also had that same thing happen to me; falling off of the bed. I was being dragged around my room, hitting the dresser, the tvstand, bookcase, everything in the room. When you're in it it is a completely indescribable dimension here isn't it? The entire time, I scream so loud and wonder why nobody hears me. The first time it happened It was after I had been looking at a picture of the inside of a pyramid before sleep, like five years ago.I woke up (if that's what you'd call it) and had no flippin clue what was going on, other than a terror like no other. I felt like some sort of immense gravity was ripping me from my body, and like I would never be able to go back. I screamed louder than I ever had in my life, and when it 'stopped', I ran to the kitchen to see why no one had helped me, and everyone just looked really confused. The fact that it had all happened in me and not the 'outside world' just terrified me more. It really is undescribable unless you experience it.
