Topic: Spiders - what does it mean?

I recently have had two dreams about spiders that are sticking out in my mind.
In brief: the first there are lots of big fat spiders crawling up my legs inside my pyjamas and I'm scared they're going to bite me and I think about grabbing them with the clothe of my pyjama legs and squeezing them to kill them so they can't bite me - they don't bite me, I wake up.
The second I am with my daughter in our garden after a party and there are the same big fat spiders everywhere and my daughter is teasing me by pushing me close to where they are and I'm getting quite cross with her cos again I'm scared they're going to get on me and bite me. But they don't and again I wake up.
I'm not scared of spiders in real life although I don't particularly like them, I live in Australia where a vast majority of them are poisonous or at least cos a nasty infection, but this doesn't usually preoccupy me in my daily life. Just as an aside, I recently suffered the loss of my dad (didn't know if this might have something to do with it? But I don't think so particularly)
What I've researched about spider dreams on the net doesn't seem to ring true, so I thought I'd ask here.

Hello cat Well, there is certainly something bothering/"bugging" you which you are afraid of getting "bitten" by. If it is not the emotional stuff regarding your father's passing, then what is it? What has been particularly bothering you recently? What are you afraid could "hurt" you or happen to you?  IP: Logged |

Thanks for your reply; Interesting question Ra. My daughter's father recently came back into our life and is trying to rebuild a relationship with her, but in that circumstance I'm more concerned about her feelings getting hurt then mine, I'm done with him. I guess I have concerns about following my own career path, so no-one in particular but I know my parents wanted me to follow a particular path for 'security', however it is not the path I want for myself. Maybe it's that. I don't want to disapoint them but I also don't want to hurt myself by doing something I don't want to for the rest of my life. That's my major issue at the moment.
Hmmm, I'm going to have to think some more.
