I had a *very real*/astral encounter-type dream about someone sensing something with their hands, by holding their hands near my eyes. They asked me first if they could do it and I said ok. So, in the dream, they learned something about me by doing this (they said "I thought so!" - they were friendly, and smiling, and it was someone that I am familiar with so I was totally ok with it) - but I don't know what it was that they learned or what type of information they would have gotten in this way. Maybe it has something to do with the eyes being 'the window to the soul'. There was a sensing of energy involved, and some kind of psychic knowing as a result of sensing the energy, so it got me wondering if my dream is based in something that anyone here actually knows about... as in, what kind of information would be gotten in this way? Or does it mean something more symbolic? In the dream itself I was aware of it being an astral encounter and I was "semi"-lucid about it all. I should have just asked what they meant, but I think I was too amazed at being in the situation that it didn't occur to me to ask what it was. lol

i do believe any information can be gotten this way but since is was done astrally they may not be aware of this, i mean in a conscious way.

Ahhhh... I'm sooo curious! I think you're exactly right - I'm sure that it's something I may not know about myself. I wonder if I'll find the answer if I meditate on it...

I posted this on another couple of sites, and this seems to be the general consensus - it was also my feeling at the time, so this is awesome to know. I just don't know what the information was ... but I'm getting signs etc today that seem to be telling me that it MIGHT be something about my soul that I actually know... but am not conscious of. I haven't meditated on this yet - I need to do it when I have actual time to spend silently.
