another weird dream In my dream I knew I had to get a new passport, like the old one had expired or something (I know in the UK and some other countries passports are renewed every 10 years but not in my country); it was supposed to be a new, more 'sophisticated' passport I was going to get and there had to be 2 photos there: 1 is the most recent photo of myself and the other is the photo of myself dead; I was kind of worried how they were going to get that one done I knew they were going to place me in a state of clinical death (by strangulation was my guess) to get the pic taken and the thought of it made me kind of apprehensive for my life. Hi Peri,I think your dream is a dream of premonition - not of your death however. It is complex, and its concepts are integrated into your being because it is about your cultural heritage. All I can understand is that it has to do with two main elements in particular - your maternal grandmother and your father. It seems that your maternal grandmother has left you a 'legacy' or something pertaining to her origins, this could just be her stories and language related sayings/folk ideas. Perhaps there is something/somewhere she would have liked you to connect with so that you could strengthen your bond to her and her heritage. Was there some kind of 'black ice' between that side of the family and your father? It seems like you are torn between the two, you feel warm towards your grandmother's traditions/cultural distinctions but you also want to maintain respect and help carry the burdens of the traumas and ideals that your father had. I think you are on a spiral of discovery in terms of integrating the two 'faces' so to speak. I also think travel is involved, as well as quite a few dead ends that you will go down as you slowly eliminate a lot of ' refuse'in terms of what you have been told, what you fear, and how you regard your family origins. thanks for looking into my dream Chryseis, to tell the truth I am not sure what you mean here It seems that your maternal grandmother has left you a 'legacy' or something pertaining to her origins, this could just be her stories and language related sayings/folk ideas My grandparents and parents are all Ukrainians, no foreigners or people of other origin in my family ... I think this dream somehow has to do only with me and my life ...like I am facing big changes in my life or something but I cant put my finger on what it might be ... everything is the same here and I dont plan any changes so I dont know. not foreigners, more like a regional rift.the 'legacy' is like a birthright, but it may be just like facial bone structure, or an affinity with this regional cultures idioms/sayings. If that doesn't apply, then I am sorry, please disregard IP: Logged |

My interpretation is simplistic, but it's all I have. I think it just reflects a change of plans or direction in life. A passport is something we use that allows us to go on journeys, new places. The sophisticated version reflects a more sophisticated stage of your life. And the 2 versions of the photos are the old you and the newer you. Your concern with how they would get the dead photo reflects your concern over your past self. Not sure about the strangulation, unless you feel something has had a strangle hold on you lately.Perhaps you are afraid of the thing that is making you change in your real life.IP: Logged |

Hello Peri I am inclined to agree with good girl. I think this dream is very much related to the reservoir/strange man dream. The two photos are the old and new you, but you are apprehensive about letting the old you "die" because it means that there is something about your "new" self that you must first accept. Again, there seems to be an identity crisis of some kind, a conflict within yourself about who you really are. What do you think? IP: Logged |
