I had two dreams lately. In the first one I and a friend of mine were eating roses! It was her flowers, and she had them on a plate. She was eating one, and I asked if I could have one. There were one green and one violet left. She wanted the violet one for herself, so I got to take the green one, even though I wanted one with an other colour. But when I was eating the green one, suddenly it had this lovely red/violet colour. In it was so big.

In the other dream I sat in the backseat of a car with my father. We were driving around, and it was tulips everywere! All had the same colour: peach/orange. They were so pretty. I knew it was forbidden to pick them, but I had to so I grabbed one. A police officer came and climbed in trough the window and said that it was not allowed to pick the flowers, and then she tattoed "Do not pick the tulips!" on my upper arm! But then we bacame friends.. Uhmm.. Any suggestions?!

Adriana, I am not sure about the meanining of your dreams but it is very interesting that both of them are about flowers; I googled for flowers and colours and this is what I found:

Violet

Violet is one of the highest spiritual colors in dreams. It indicates a sense of the mystical, a union with all things. Nikola Tesla, the enigmatic inventor, used plates that are a violet color for the purpose of transmuting negative energy into positive. If you are dreaming of violet, it indicates that you are comfortable with yourself and are experiencing a great sense of peace within yourself and with Source.

Purple

During Lent, the liturgical color is that of purple. Purple, therefore carries a dual message depending on its shade. The darker purple is associated with royalty whereas the reddish purple is associated with penance. Either way, purple is associated with deep emotions and a looking inward to oneself. Check your dream to see if you're feeling like the queen or if you're feeling you need to punish yourself.

Green

Green is a color we associate with nature and therefore is often association with spring. Dreams involving the color green can indicate new beginnings, rebirth, or resurrection. Green can also be a color pun meaning 'go'--that you have the 'green light' to move on in your life. Green is also associated with the heart chakra and can indicate newness in your ability to feel affinity with those around you.

Orange

Orange is typically a color of well balanced, positive energy. Orange is sometimes associated with autumn and Halloween/Samhain. As such, in dreams it may signify the completion or fruition of plans or a creative endeavour. In Eastern mysticism, orange is the color associated with the second chakra, which is located just underneath the navel. The second chakra contains information about our emotions and our creativity. Dreaming of a clear orange color may indicate a well balanced emotional life while dreaming of a burnt orange color may indicate muddled emotions or a feeling that we've been 'burned' emotionally.

Flowers as Color Symbols

As the well known rhyme goes, 'roses are red, violets are blue'. In dreams, just as in the rhyme, flowers may appearing as reminders of color associations, drawing attention to the color they are rather than to the actual flower itself. For more information on color in dreams, check out this article: Color in Dreams

Symbols of Self

Carl Jung observed that the shape of some flowers, such as the rose, resemble a pattern known as the mandala. "Mandala" comes from a Sanskrit word and is loosely translated means "circle". Mandalas are often circular in shape, however, the patterns inside the circle are beautifully intricate as the mandala can represent the spiritual self, the cosmos, and life itself. Dreaming of a symbol such as a rose, may be a very spiritual dream - one that provides the dreamer with a glimpse of her soul or the infinite. Jung called dreams of this nature, "Great Dreams" - dreams with complex mythological or archetypal imagery.

Flowers in dreams may also be symbols of health - emotional and spiritual. Look at the flower and see what condition it is in. Is it bright and full of color? Is it faded? It is in need of water? Brightly colored, healthy flowers may indicate vibrancy in life while faded or parched flowers can can indicate that certain areas of one's life are in need of attention. For example, faded roses may mean that a relationship is fading. Wilted flowers can symbolize a thirst in the soul or may be a cry for spiritual help.

Creativity

Healthy, plentiful flowers in dreams are symbolic of growth. This growth may be in one's career, personal life, or of the spiritual variety. Dreams involving fields of healthy flowers may symbolize a time of abundant creativity. This creativity can take many forms. It may be a particularly fertile time of ideas, a time of artistic inspiration, or it may also symbolize the ultimate creativity - a time of physical fertility.

Roses

Roses in waking life have a special significance and that significance extends to dream life as well. Red roses are associated with love, beauty, passion, and romance. White roses are usually associate with purity. The purity it symbolizes may be a spiritual purity; a return to a state of innocence. Yellow roses are associated with friendship and might even represent some kind of disappointment - especially if one is hopeful that a relationship may be romantic when in fact it is only a friendship.

If you see tulips in a dream, it signifies a new beginning in your future. Tulips denote charity, hope, as well as faith.

Thanks so much, Peri
I love to dream about roses, beacuase I feel so good about these dreams. And the colour the tulips had is my favourite colour, by the way But I have to think about the meaning, I can't see a direct link to my own life right now, but maybe it will come to me..

Hello Adriana

Before I tell you what I think, can I ask you your age? I suspect you are pretty young, like early teens. Am I close?

Vinay, thanks for the vote of confidence. And by the way, I am a guy.

Looks like I wasn't close at all! I looked around and saw your string in the introduction forum. I must be mistaking innocence for youth.

Would you consider yourself to be relatively "innocent" or naive in certain ways, perhaps in the ways of love or sexuality? I'm just trying to get more of a feel for who you are, because my first impressions were WAY off! I'll have to adjust my interpretation accordingly!

Hello Ra

Yes, I think I am a bit naive. Generally, but also when it comes to love. But I am not "stupid" naive, if you know what I mean.. I try to protect myself against being hurt, becuase I am very emotional person. Does that make sense?!

Hello Adriana

The first dream suggests that you are nearly ready (green) to incorporate (eat) a new level of love/passion/life (red/violet). The rose is a classic symbol for the Self, but could also symbolize love or relationship. The dream suggests the "flowering" of some new energy/situation/issue.

The second dream indicates that your emotional or passionate/sexual life is growing more uninhibitied or overflowing (tulips everywhere), that your own feminine strength is becoming a bigger part of you (orange/peach), and that you are on the verge of breaking free of the boundaries set by your parents when you were younger (in car with father/pick forbidden flowers).

It could be suggested that you are somewhat conflicted about these new urges, as the police officer symbolizes parental rules/authority which have been made part of you (tattoo), but this officer is a woman which you became friends with, suggesting the growth of your own feminine identity/power.

What do you think?

Ra, you nailed it! I can relate to almost everything you wrote. Thanks a lot!
I think it is too personal for me to say anything more about it, but I can only say that your interpretation was very accurate. Keep up the good work!

I didn't want to reveal anything too personal, so I stuck with generalities.

Be careful out there, and have fun.

... and thank you for sharing your dream.
