For the past few weeks I've been having repeating dreams of trying to take pictures of different things and the camera not working properly every time. I press the shoot button and it moves very slowly, so I press harder and when it finally clicks it's in slow motion (the operations of the camera dont come together quickly enough) and I've missed the shot. It's all very frustrating and disappointing.

For example, in one dream, I was at a seacoast with an oriental man and it was nearing dusk. There was a HUGE full moon in the sky and i had him move just slightly so his head was centered in front of it and I could take some pictures. It was quite a spectacular sight. The moon was surrounding his head and it looked like a giant halo around his head.

I was having trouble operating the camera and panicking because the moon was moving quickly up in the sky and getting smaller as it did and too high to be positioned around his head anymore. I fiddled around with the camera quickly trying to get it to work properly. It was first positioned over the water in the background and wouldve made for a great shot, but as it moved it went over land and I was dissapointed.

This re-occuring theme of the camera operating in slow motion - or not at all, just when I see something beautiful or unique to capture, is puzzling. I always end up pushing the button harder or rapidly or shaking the camera to try to get it to work. The scenes quickly change and i'm disappointed that I missed what wouldve been a great picture.

Any thoughts?

are you feeling stressed or confused? i think your dreams may mean that you have trouble understanding or seeing clearly what is going on in your life

Hi Peri. Thanks for your insight. I am not as stressed these days or confused. Actually just the opposite. Recently a number of things regarding important people and situations in my life have come to light. Some recent developments have made a few people and their actions become very clear to me, who I thought I knew well. One being my brother. Maybe that has to do with the eclipse energies we are under.

Lately I've been spending most of my time alone and not using my time as constructively as I should; am dealing with major depression and ptsd. I feel like time is quickly slipping by; or potential events and people are passing me by. Like life will begin sometime in the future, but for now, not much is happening in day-to-day life, though a few major developments have taken place as of late. I feel like I'm in a holding or waiting pattern. Like the world is moving around me, but my life is somewhat stagnant or frozen atm? Like precious time is just being wasted away and all i do is watch. I'm itching to get a move on. Just not sure what that will entail yet.

So, in a way, these dreams relate to those feelings of not being able to capture the beauty in life right now. Not as much as I could be anyway. Life is kind of dull and uneventful. I'm not upset about it, just feel a little stuck, but am going with the flow because some good things are happening too. In a way it feels like something has broken and is out of my hands as things change and slip by and there's nothing I can do about it except keep it in my memory (not on film ).

I remember thinking to myself in some of these dreams that at least I got to see [whatever it happened to be], that i was lucky enough to be in that place at the time and would at least have a memory of it. Just disappointed I couldnt capture it on film to look back on when I wanted to. I felt it a shame that something beautiful had to "move on" and change. Sad that things had to be so fleeting.

Also I remember trying to slow things down or change them in the dreams with my mind and it worked only to a certain degree. I think that was kind of lucid dreaming because I realized I could change or slow down what was going on. Though only to a certain extent and not exactly how i wanted to. There are tinges of anxiety to these dreams. Mixed emotions and trying to get things to move at a slower pace maybe if just to be able to enjoy and relax in them more. Irritation that i can't just stop everything for a moment and take it all in and take it all down (in a photo) to have and hold and remember.

maybe then 'missing the shots' has something to do with 'time and potential events slipping by so quickly'?

the camera could represent your 'eye' (physical or spiritual?) ...its the process of seeing...maybe the 'problem' with the camera reflects a fear of, well, im not sure, or doubt.

Thanks for your thoughts, friends.

I don't think the dreams reflect "not seeing clearly", fear or doubt. Because those emotions or situations didnt happen in the dream. It probably has more to do with depressive feelings running into my dream life. Anxiety and general sadness make more sense.

Hello 26taurus

There is nothing for me to add. I think you explained this dream very well in your responses to Peri. Do you see the connections?
