I had a dream last night and I dont remember the most part of it (which is unusual for me) just a tiny bit of it: I was driving on a highway, it was empty, no other cars there. Then I suddenly saw a man lying on the road, I pulled over and looked at him, he was an aged person, he wore a goatee, his hair was long and grey. I knew something happened to him, he was either hit by car or somehow he fell out of the vehicle, there was nothing wrong with him on the outside, he was conscious but I could see he was a mess inside: all his bones were broken, he had massive internal bleeding and there was no hope he would survive. I hesitated: on the one hand I knew I had to pick him up and take him to the hospital, on the other hand I was so scared he would start screaming in pain and I would not be able to help him or he would even die in my car bleeding from the mouth and nose ... I 'think' I took him with me although I am not sure ... that's all I remember.

Any ideas?

added* I was just thinking is it possible that someone from my past ( = aged person with long grey hair) who probably lost track of their life (hit by car) will need my help soon although I could not do much for them?

Could it be that you are ambivilant about reaching out and helping someone in your life that is "a mess inside?" Just a passing thought.

Those last two sentences in the dream just fairly scream out. I don't know why, but they seem most important. what are your particular beliefs about the meaning of blood, the mouth, and the nose in dreams? I mean I know we could look them up, but I think everyone has their own sort of dream code.

yes, the last sensences made me wonder too ... I don't know ... he was bleeding inside so maybe 'bleeding from the mouth' means I am scared to hear about someone's inner turmoil?

another thing: my dog that I loved very much died on my hands; when he was in agony he was bleeding from the mouth, I watched him die and all I could do was stay beside him till the end ... it still hurts me to think about him

Oh....I know that pain. My dachund died in my arms in jan 08. She was very old, but still I felt so guilty because I didn't realize she was so sick, til it was too late. I'm truly sorry to hear about your dog. Did you/will you get another?

I just read the whole thing again, was your dog hit by a car? If so, then I would think, yes.

no, he was not hit by a car... I had two Dobermans, they loved each other very much, they were always together, they never fought despite the fact both were guys ... the older died of cancer and the younger grieved so much that he developed heart failure and died a year and a half later ... no matter how hard I tried to bring him back to his normal self, nothing helped, he never got over this loss, so he died of a broken heart, both literally and figuratively...

they were both short haired dogs, no goatees, the younger died in April 2002 so it happened long time ago

Wow, that is so sad and yet beautiful that the younger one loved so much.....You know when my dog died, I said, outloud, to every one, NO MORE DOGS! I can't take it, they don't live long enough! I have a bird, they live forever, sometimes longer than their owners. I was good with that. People kept coming at me from all sides, offering me dogs n pups, and I was like "NO!" cuz I felt that I was betraying, so to speak, my NIKKI. Then my daughter came home with a dachund puppy. I couldn't help it, I fell in love with him. But then, my daughter turned 18, and she moved out and took little DYLAN with her. I just curled up in my bed and cried for like a week. Then my current dog, found me and it just felt right, and good, and permanent. So maybe another pet will find you, when your ready, as obviously you have much love to give an animal....I know this is off topic from your dream, but I just feel so deeply for people who lose their animals. Their are so many UNsensitive souls out their who are like "deal with it, it's just a dog" NO!!!! They are family. And I don't want to throw a bunch of platitudes out there, but I know you know, that they are together somewhere, and yet, always with you.

thanks for your post I know you love animals just as much as I do ... the first post of yours I saw was about our animal soulmates

you know, they were really part of our family and my parents finally got officially divorced 14 days after the younger died, so with their death the family fell apart completely, it was so symbolic because at times it looked like they were the reason my parents stayed together, lol

I remember once I was so very depressed, I was missing them so much and when I had no more tears to cry I asked God to let me see them in a dream. That night I did dream of them: they both came to visit me! they were playful and happy as they used to be, and radiated health and happiness; they stayed a little and then went away. I know they really visited me that night .. I felt so much peace and gratefulness in the morning I still smile when I think about this dream, it was so cool.

I havent had any pets since that, both my mom and dad have cats right now and they even talk to each other so time heals

Oh Wow!
You and I have much in common. My bio parents got divorced when I was very little. I have no memories of them together. My mother married my step dad when I was about 9 or so, and he was a wonderful man.
She divorced him 20 something years later, because, she said, "he was too boring."
Now heres the rub, they had two dogs, a beagle, and a dachund (not mine, a different one) and as my mother decided to just wave a wand and "viola" no family, she actually put an ad in the paper and gave our two dogs away, behind mine and my brothers backs!! I still have no idea why she did such a thing, as one of us kids would have gladly taken the dogs.
I honestly thougt I was gonna lose it. Parental divorce when we are adults is DEVASTATING!
My poor step dad still pines for her even though she has married another.
My "new" step dad does not like children, so we are not really welcome at their home, since I have 3.
My mother lives 10 min away and I see her about 4-5 times a year, as her new hubby is not "into family, no offense, he says," umm
OFFENDED!!!! Sorry for rambling, just what you said reminded me of so many things, Peri. Abandonment has been a huge theme in my life. I'm working on that. It is hard.

along with abandonment, I should add, betrayal and boundries. I have no problems with boundries, but the people in my life, all the way back to childhood, to present, seem to find them very easy to cross.
My lessons seems to be learning forgiveness and unconditional love. Whew! It's a work in progress.

I am a complete novice in astrology, but what are your placements, I am curious.

Okay, I'll try my hand at this. From your original post, I'd say the most important thing about the dream is the car and the empty highway. The car represents your life, how you get around in your life. The highway is your life's journey. The fact that it was empty says a lot, perhaps, that you feel alone in the world?

Now the man may or may not represent a human or even your dog (I'm very sorry to hear you lost your pet---I'm an animal lover too and feel more connected with my Siamese than most people I know).

The man was "something" you had to stop for, an obstacle of sorts. Maybe there is something in your life, a mess of sorts, that you would rather pass by but feel obligated not to? There was anxiety in the dream as well, so perhaps this task makes you nervous or you are unsure of how successful you will be at solving it, much less, getting involved with it in the first place?

Just throwing that out there.

I think you are spot on here It was a retrospective dream of something that has already happened (I usually have dreams about what's going to happen in the future)I am kind of a loner so yes, I was all alone and then I met someone, we thought we could be together but he had emotional wounds that made it impossible for him to trust me and enjoy our relationship, I've had my own crap so I had to leave because it was too much for me to handle, I am not that strong to 'carry' us both ... this parallel between the man in the dream and my dog shows how close I felt to him, how dear he was to me, thanks for your interp Asphodel
