What does it mean when you dream about a persons father but you have never, ever met him in the awakening life..I dream of someones dad that I met him and the dream was so descriptive..He had a scar above his lip and one of his fingers was swollen like he had slammed it in a door or something and it had never been the same. I mean I can descibe him to a tee from the gray hair on his head to his build to the sound of his voice..Yet I have never met him and I am not sure that this is correct just strange..

I'm confused, do you mean this is someone you know, their father? Like youve seen his photo, but never met him in life?

maybe there is some aspect of his personality you have never experienced before: deformed fingers ... hmm...what do fingers represent?

Hands are also often used in communication. Not only are they used in sign language but many people "talk with" their hands and therefore hands may be asking us to look at how effectively we are communicating in waking life.

Hands are an invaluable part of our waking lives, and are therefore extremely potent symbols in dreams - try not to miss out on what they are saying to you.

Dreams hands may be saying that it is time to let go of such resistance and accept aid. Alternatively, hands may also symbolize a need to help others.

now scar above his lip

To see a scar in your dream, symbolizes struggles and/or painful memories and bad feelings which may have never entirely healed and still continue to linger in your mind. It suggests that your past still has some influence or effect on your life. Alternatively, a scar may represent deep-seeded insecurities which may be holding you back from accomplishing your goals.
Lips

In the pop culture lips are usually symbols of sexuality and sensuality. They are also symbols of communication.

hmm maybe he cannot communicate properly when hurt or something like this?

no, I was not talking about his father, I was talking about him = the part of himself you never experienced (you did not know his father well/at all in the real life)

Ok I get it, this was about to turn into a whose on first base thing..LOL!!!!

Yeah I see the scar thing ok..Thanks

Edited: Something just popped into my head. Do you think that his father is a symbol of him. And that his deformed finger and scar above his lip represents the emotional pain that he has endured?? Makes some sense to me from the things that I know..Also I do believe that his father has been a great source of pain to him and his mother and brothers..His father was always in and out of his life growing up from what I understand he could never really count on him bc he was never there for him...Which in turns makes me know why he has some of the commitment issues he has and so forth..Btw..Im not taking this and running with it just some thoughts here..
