I had one repetitive dream: I am in the elevator and going up, the elevator is moving very fast and does not stop at the floors, the emergency stop won't work, I am very scared that it'll break through the roof and then fall down and I will die.another dream: I am in the space shuttle sort of (something between a space shuttle and a well rig) it is not going to be launched into the outer space, it is going to reach the center of the earth, I am so excited but I always woke up before I got there IP: Logged |

I used to dream I was Wendy from the Peter Pan cartoon when I was very young. I remember those dreams clearly even 20 years later. I always tried to fly in my dreams but only managed to hover awkwardly... in the Peter Pan movie Wendy had trouble keeping up with Peter and I took to that when I as little.Another dream I had when I was around 5 that I'll never forget is one where I went to the fridge to eat some shrimp (my fav food at the time) and when I opened the package this gorilla-sized shrimp with legs and a mouth leaped out and chased me through the house booming "HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE EATEN?!" Scared the crap outta me. IP: Logged |

When I was starting my family, I would always have this dream, for years, that my high school called, and said that "something was wrong" and I really didn't graduate. So in the dream I had to go back to my highschool with babies in arms and in tow, with much younger crowd, and try to finish my requirements.I started college when I was, I think like 30 or 32. And the dreams went away. I guess my brain was telling me, "Go back to school!" Because the dreams went away after that. Then about a year ago, I started dreaming that I go to the college to check exactly what my standing is, like what classes do I have left for my B.A. and the people have no record of me or any of my zillion classes I took. I guess its getting close to the time where I should finish up that degree, or my brain will not let me rest! I didn't answer right did I? You said 'childhood'..... I always dreamt I could fly, I still do. I have told people the clothes they were wearing, where they were sleeping in the house, and things like that. It freaks people out, so I learned to stop telling! I go to fantastic places in my dreams where I teach, learn, meet with wonderful people in a classroom type atmosphere. I love those dreams. In my childhood nightmares, I would run up to the back of my grandparents (they raised me) and tug on their clothes, and when they turned around their faces were hard and they said they didn't know me. I used to dream that alot. I've often wondered if that is a fear of people not being what they seem to be, as betrayal has been a large theme to my life. sorry for rambling, great question! When I was a child, up until age six I guess, I used to dream that I could breathe under water. These dreams were similar to flying dreams, where you realize suddenly, hey, I forgot, I can fly... I still have flying dreams very often, but although I had the under water breathing dream very frequently when I was a child, I never had this dream again after I grew up. So weird. It was really a lovely feeling. Well, I was learning how to swim at the time, and we had a pool where I lived, so usually I would swim with those inflatable tubes that fit round your arms or waist. But in my dreams I'd be in the pool without any floating devices and I'd be able to swim around and around the pool under water while happily breathing. A recurring dream from my 'adulthood', meaning it's still going on now, is that I'm back at school and I have to still write exams, especially math exams! ------------------ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. Gypseewind ; anything goes …as far back as you can remember...its fun trying to think of it..history rewinds in your brain (I find it relaxing!) I like trying to remember really early memories, and one i always get stuck in thought with is a dream I had when I was about 7 and freaks me out more than the first dream I remember having . My earliest dream - I saw this thing that looked like Skeletor, I woke up scared (naturlich) but weird thing, I was looking at myself being scared ! Mmm ive never had a flying dream IP: Logged |

Hi ariefairy. I had this one for years. I'm in a tunnel and I can see the light at the end of it. It never gets any closer no matter how fast I walk. And every couple of hundred metres, standing with his back to the wall there is a man in a suit of armour. These men never move or talk to me and through their visors I can see their eyes and they are glowing red. I never get out of the tunnel. It makes me afraid even to think of it. I've had another one since childhood, and this one I still have. I go visiting every member of my family to ask for help. They answer the front door, I explain my situation, that I am in need of help, and they wordlessly and calmly shut the door in my face. Happy days huh?! IP: Logged |

i remember being chased by strange silver and gold robots. i am not sure if it was right after i watched the Star Wars or Terminator... but i still remember how terrified i was!also when i had very high fevers, i often dreamt that there were many shadow people surrounding me and it was really scary. but now i think that they were probably ancestral spirits, just gathering because they were worried for me, and not dream. I used to dream that I am falling down from a height very fast. At the end of the dream I always fell down after I fell down I realize it is only a dream.I have frequent exam dreams. In every dream I had not prepared well for the exams. The exams are nearing and I have to prepare really fast. The dream was about my life itself, how ill prepared I am for life and the real challenges are not near they are far away. My brain urges me to prepare by simulating that these challenges are very near. It is interesting nobody is trying to interpret the falling down dreams. Internally you know that the dream has no interpretation. You are recalling something that really happened. I myself tried to interpret my dreams usually but I never tried to interpret my falling down dreams. Very interesting...I didn't notice it until now (Thanks!) Wonderful thread!
