Why are dreams so strange?
and where do these subjects come from?

I am a Cocktail Waitress by trade
(not a bartender)
In my dream I was bartending and I walked behind the bar to find that all of my customers had Down Syndrome.

They were waiting for me to fix them cocktails.
I just stood there telling my bar-back
"I can't do this, this is wrong"
In the meantime my customers are getting impatient and a little rowdy accusing me of discrimination
Security comes over and tells me if they're of age serve them.

I am horrified, I don't know what to do, I don't want to be insubordinate but I just CAN"T serve them alcohol (without a minder) so I start opening bottles of Wine Free and cans of O'Douls
(both non-alcoholic)
which seemed to get the party started.

Somewhere inside I still feel bad.

Strangely disturbing dream!

I actually feel there's a lot of guilt in general surrounding this dream. Is there anything you're feeling guilty about? Because this feels like a theme, and also about right versus wrong in general.
And also judgment (security, an 'authority' figure in the dream, seems to tell you to put your own feelings aside).
Something about should and should nots.
Something Saturnine about the dream....

Just curious, since I'm in the bizzz.

Did you perhaps serve someone you shouldn't have upon retrospection?
Like someone too upset to be drinking or maybe someone who had had enough already?

Sometimes I have suffered times with this job where I have had alot of guilt stemming from the fact that there are people I serve whom I know for a fact have spouses and children that they should be spending this money on. Or some have a serious problem and I feel guilty for contributing to it (even though if I didn't they would just go elsewhere) do you ever feel this way?

Hi MVM, You're right this does feel like Saturn. I don't feel guilt but I do feel personally responsible for them and therefore probably overprotective.

Hi GW, The guilt I feel is for the kids who's parent goes out and blows the food and rent money on gambling.
But you're right, what can you do?

Thanks
