In my dream, my ex was holding our cat & asking if I had ever seen her turn white before.

When I went to go look at her she was whitish gray but definitley still our cat. There was no mistaking that. The rest is a bit fuzzy but if I am not mistaken as my ex was putting the cat down, she truned back into her "normal" colors.

I think the dream has more to do with your ex and yourself than the cat. Perhaps the cat is symbolic of an "issue" and when the issue is in his hands it looks one way, but when it is put down (dropped) it is the way it really is. In other words, does he ever try and make you see things differently when you are communicating, when you know for a fact what the situation really looks like?
