More dreams tonight...

First a literature exam... I went in late because I was coming from another exam (I was happy because I did that one quite well).
The teacher was already dictating the questions. I excused myself being late saying that I was in another exam (I think it was science related) and she was fine with that.
She asked me to take a seat and said that she would continue dictating to the rest of the class as she had already started and after she would have finished she would dictate the exam to me.
I suggested to take note of the remaining questions while she was dictating to the rest of the class to gain some time and then she could dictate me the first question. She was OK with my proposal.

She explained the general objective of the exam for my benefit. There were 5 questions in total and she would collect each answer every day of the week... The first on on Moday, the second one on Tuesday, and so on... but we had only an hour to complete each response (???).
Each question was about writing a dialog with the theme expecified that should be 4HTML long (this doesn't make any sense) which was around 5 lines long (I remember being confused with that specific intruction... I was not familiar with that way of measuring information in a text... I was like saying "megabytes"... but how do you write a text in megabytes?? And sayin 5 lines was a bit open... 5 long lines or short lines would be fine? 5 lines per speaker??)

She aluded to the question I missed. It was something related to feelings, asking about or dealing with feelings...

The second question was related to a... pineapple!!! Try to explain to someone who has never seen a pineaple what is like.

I don't remember the 3rd and 4th question.

The fifth question was very strange. She only said that we should imagine we had a problem with out car and we could not get in the office. We needed to take it to the repair shop (I supposed that the dialog would be to explain the situation to our boss). She said then that we were being unable to contact the office, they were not answering the phone. Full stop.
I then put my hand up and asked what was the dialod apart. She answered cryptically implying that the answer was implicit in what she has said and said nothing.

I remember finding the exam difficult to start. I was not sure of being capable of doing something decent... I didn't fully grasp what to do, couldn't picture it in my mind... I dedicated a couple of minutes to think in each question, I jumped from one to the next looking for inspiration, trying to take a run-up...
It was a simple exam in itself (writing dialogs!!!) but I was so stuck!!!

Later on, I had another dream, very related. It was also academic, related to problem solving. I had two questions related to a map... The map I got was drew in a horizontal paper and I had to redraw it in a vertical paper, not losing any info... I tried but it didn't fit, there was too much information in the horizontal dimension... I thought of using different symbols to indicate locations...
Then I also had a real photograph of one street and I needed to find the spot in the map that corresponded with that location...

I remember feeling frustrated too... as if the problem was more complex than I would have expected, more than I could take on... I was not sure of being able to solve it...

Hello steelrose

These dreams may seem confusing at first glance, but there is a definate message. The symbology within the dreams is repetitive and points in a distinct direction. Your mind is certainly trying to solve a problem ...

Being late for your exam suggests that you have fear about failing in a waking situation, that you are unsure of your ability in handling a situation, and that your self-confidence is taking a direct hit.

Five days, five dialogues, five lines for each. Archetypally, five is associated with transformation. This is indeed what you are in the midst of.

You are asked to write dialogues, which symbolize dialogue/communication with Self, and you are confused about the instructions, indicating that you are having difficulty "speaking" with yourself. It is no coincidence that the question you missed in the dream was "something related to feelings, asking about or dealing with feelings." This is a specific direction as to what your difficulty is ... you are not fully connecting/communicating/aknowledging your feelings. You are "missing" this connection with yourself.

I am not sure about the pineapple, but pineapples can be related to self-confidence, which would fit with the other symbols. If you have difficulty describing a pineapple, perhaps this represents having difficulties with your self-confidence.

The final question, being the fifth (transformation), suggests the answer you need in order to complete your transformation. Again, it is all about communication, or the inability to do so.

The car represents yourself, or how you "move about" in the world. It is what gets you from point A to point B. It is broken. The office is where you "work", or the place within yourself that is not broken. In your case, the office has a double meaning, as it is also the place you are most frequently in contact with a specific problem/situation ... him. In the final question/problem there is no ability for communication with your office. There is only one solutuion ... fix the car. You must "communicate" with yourself, explore your feelings and how you are dealing with them, and only then will you be able to "contact the office", repairing the disconnect in yourself.

The second dream is similar. The map is your psyche. You are trying to "redraw" it, to shift your perspective (horizontal to vertical). Horizontal is the subconscious, vertical is conscious awareness. You say it yourself, "the problem was more complex than I would have expected." Understandable, but you will succeed. Keep trying, even as your self-confidence wavers and you get frustrated.

Talking with your psychologist about this situation is perhaps the best thing you could do. In fact, conversations with him/her could be the stimulus behind these dreams.

I hope this adds some clarity.

We love you, steelrose!

Walk in Peace

You are really good at this... This is impressive...

I'm in a very confusing point of my life. Yes, I'm not connected to my feelings, I'm trying to protect myself from pain... Everything hurts these days...
My self-confidence has been severely damaged and it's not improving (you know why )

The map thing is very clever!!! Yes, I'm trying to look at reality from a different perspective, trying to survive in this world whose mechanics I don't understand.

Yes!!! I have given a copy of all dreams I have posted here to my psychologist. It's the first thing I did when I started to go to therapy. We will look at them when time comes.

Thanks Ra!!! We love you too..
