I thought I'de start a thread, and add to it little by little, of dream symbols and meanings. I would use these as a guide but not as a definet rule. Keep in mind that dreaming is a very personal experience, and only the dreamer knows all the details that can explain what his or her dreams mean. Also, I always think about simple things like what I may have heard or seen on tv, radio, etc. that day, some things stick in our heads and then are played out in our dreams. AND, when applying symbology to dreams, remember that something that means one thing to one person, may mean something totally different to another, there are so many variables there....culture, upbringing, experience, just to name a few.
Another example would be; if you dream of flowers, and you are a florist, then your dream probably isn't about flowers, literally, but more likely your dream is about work. Alrighty then, these are from 'Dream Cards' by Strephon Kaplan-Williams.... *Lightning- Revelation, Intuition *Roller coaster- Ups and Downs *Flowers- feelings, Potentials *Knives- Sensation, Intensity *Dance- Celebration, Joy *Candle- Illumination, Affirmation *Spider Web- Entanglement, Knowledge *Baby- Death, Newness *Rainbow- Affirmation, Bridging *Judge- Power, Structure *Lost Teeth- Separation, Insecurity *Suitcase- Attachments, Necessities *Stairs- Direction, Ambivalence *Dog- Leading, Following *Car- Ambition, Wandering *Needle- Penetration, Force *Soldiers- Order, Discipline *Mud- Resistance, Determination *Dolphin- Knowledge, Intelligence
....again, keep in mind these are just a guide, the whole dream should be taken into consideration. Wishing you Sweet Dreams. zzzzzz.

I find it interesting that my interpretations are very different on most of those you listed. I wonder if others feel the same.------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> IP: Logged |

I think it's useful to have a guide to act as a starting point - you can spiral and reflect on what things mean to you personally too but sometimes a particular object in a dream seems to make no sense and these starting points/guides can help to give you an idea and spark your detective powers. Yes, I find them much different from the older traditional dream books I have. These are from a card set that I have. I thought I'de throw them out there to offer fresh perspectives, but I know what you mean Lexx. IP: Logged | |
