Hi all
An old dream popped into my head today (can't think why) so thought I'd share it on here to see if anyone has any thoughts on it. Hope that's ok.

I had this dream when I was about 8 or 9 I think but still remember it as if it were last night.

My parents and I parked in the car park of a hotel - very modern non-descript building, just a block with windows, door etc. At the far end of the walled car park there was a wood which seemed to go on for miles. Very dark. We gathered our bags and went into the hotel.

Behind the reception desk were 3 identical women. Horrible looking 'Dracula's bride' appearance with deathly white skin, blood red lipstick sneers (not smiles), black curly hair in exactly the same short style and wild eyes. They seemed excited at our arrival and kept looking intently at me. They seemed to glide not walk and all moved as one... bit like a 3 headed serpent of some kind.

They showed us up to the room and left. I told my mum and dad (who up to now had seemed oblivious to the women) that I felt scared and that something was not right, and that I thought we should leave and stay somewhere else. They laughed it off and said we'd stay for dinner and see how we felt after that, although I could tell they were now starting to be a little unnerved. Dinner was served and the 3 women kept on hovering around us and staring at me with that same sly smile. We finished our meals and went up to our room and decided to go to bed. I kept my eyes half open and sure enough as soon as my parents had gone to sleep, in glided the 3 women. I prentended to be asleep and they eventually left the room. As soon as they'd gone I got up, woke my parents and told them we had to leave and why. This time they believed me and we packed and left. The 3 women were standing at the reception desk and reached out after us as we practically ran out the door but they didn't seem to be able to move very fast anymore.

We ran to our car but I noticed a big black dog (sort of a labrador but larger) standing at the entrance to the woods. He spoke to me and said "If you follow me into the woods you'll be safe" but my parents warned against it. So I called to him and he came with us in the car. I remember hugging him tight to me as we drove away out of the car park, and I turned round to see the 3 women flying after us, grinning. Horrible!!!

But what does it mean? Is the black dog some kind of Shuck, trying to protect me/us? Should I have gone into the woods, and what did they represent I wonder?? Could never seem to get a handle on this one for some reason and it's clearly presented itself again for my attention having popped into my head today. Any thoughts gratefully received.

Hi Seeker;

This is what I think about your dream.

First of all children commonly use monsters in their dreams as symbols of anxiety. We are conditioned to fear monsters, scary things, etc. So when you say you dreamed of these women, it makes me think you may have been anxious about something at the time.
Can you recall that age? Would there be anything that was troubling you to cause anxiety back then?

If so, did you ever tell your parents about it, and maybe they tried to shush shush your fears, like parents do. But sometimes, they tend to think children only need a word or two of comforting when they really need much more.
But in the dream, as you say, they did come around to believing you. So, if you can recall anything that was bothering you, can you remember if your parents finally did believe you about whatever it might have been?

Ok, now the dog, in this dream, I see him as 'Mans best friend' a protector, as dogs can be.
The woods to me would symbolize your subconscious, as in, the unknown.

Perhaps he was just suggesting to you that if you retreated into your subconscious you would not fear what was troubling you anymore, OR, you may come to understand it.

But you went into the car and fled instead.

The end of the dream was everyone together, getting away, so, whatever that thing may have been, was overcome.

Hello seeker

I get the feeling this dream (even though as young as you were) is about your spirituality and your journey into very deep waters you would take as you grew up. Now today is the eclipse and this dream may have popped up because of this....so check where the eclipse is in your chart and how it touches your natal placements.

You recall this dream with so much detail and its amazing.

See how as soon as you got out the car you noticed "the wood which went on for miles and was very dark" - wood is a raw material of Nature and may have shown your first glimpse of your spiritual journey. You saw it as dark - meaning still in your unconscious

The 3 women may symbolize your higher consciousness (holy Trinity) and they were happy to see you cause they hope you are ready for the journey. You are not you are still very young so you are uncomfortable with their staring at you, them knowing you, so you perceive them as scary.

You pretending to be asleep may show you are not ready to accept what they have to tell you. So you ran away. Once again your higher self wanted to try again this time with a friendlier symbol one that you may accept more willingly so the dog appears. You embrace the dog because you trust him and maybe he symbolizes a friend you will love dearly who you will meet someday and help you remember your spritual gifts. So at the time you don't trust him enough to follow him into the woods - your subconscious as you know - but you do hold on to him (showing you will follow him one day, just not now 'cause you are too young).

The women grinning at you with a frightening look is just showing your fear. You were a child and not ready to understand your soul's message so it translated into a fearful image instead, just like it does for many of us when we are little.

I think maybe you are ready to embrace what your friend, that very beautiful black (magical/spiritual/guide) dog, was telling you that night?

Maybe there is someone in your life who triggered this dream because of how she/he can show you to trust again...someone who loves you unconditionally - dog's kinda loving

I know this may sound a lot for a little child's dream but I think a lot of us had these scary dreams as children. I agree with you its popped up today as a reminder

Any of this ring a bell?

Hi Gypseewind and Mystique and thanks so much for taking the time to have a look and share your thoughts Posting this in 2 halves as I seem to be having difficulty with my browser.

I remember having a lot of very vivid dreams during that period but not all had such definite monsters in them as this one so I suppose that's why it's stuck in my memory with such clarity. Had another one about hooded monks who kept following me through a half finished house too (half built subconscious because I was a child perhaps?) and that one was pretty scary too!

Gypseewind I've wracked my brains and even asked my mum but neither of us can pin point anything in particular that I was anxious or afraid of at that time in my life so unfortunately we've drawn a bit of a blank there. But I think your observation about the dog suggesting I retreat to the safety of my subconscious is very pertinent. Even at that age I had the feeling that the wood was the place I should have explored and that we made the wrong decision to flee. Thank you x

Mystique WOW!!
Think it's my 4th house that's being affected by the eclipse and I have a 4th house Sun, Mercury, Uranus and Pluto so pretty busy! But the really interesting thing about that is that you mentioned that perhaps there was someone who triggered this (or triggered my rememberance of this dream) - that person is a very old friend who has just come back into my life and he has triggered all sorts in me. His Pluto Uranus and Sun all sit in my 4th house and his Moon is right on the edge of it too so he makes me feel very at home and comforted. We share so much in common but mainly our beliefs/ways of looking at spirituality, love and karma so it's such a close bond. Probably why I'm being prompted by my subconscious to go and explore that wood a little better!

You were spot on I think with the women being parts of myself that I didn't understand and felt uncomfortable with which made them into frightening figures in my growing mind. My mum had a recurring dream when she was a kid of a hooded figure that pursued her relentlessly, chasing her through odd shaped rooms and basements, and it was only in the final dream that she made it out into the sunshine that the hood fell and the figure turned out to be benign. Her own higher self I've always suspected.

Thank you both so much! xx
