I always have weird dreams. Seems like last night was particularly vivid. I was at a beach on some sort of field trip with a high school or college class. I had decided to go back to school. I was walking along the steep sand banks looking for shells while most everyone else were goofing off. I started to find, just below the surface of the sand, pretty large conch shells. I pulled two of them out of the sand and kept walking. I found recesses in the sand where other creatures were living, one held an octopus, one some sort of eels. I looked down in my arms and realized that my conch shells weren't empty. One of them looked like some sort of large clam and one of them had tentacles like a squid. I called the teacher over to help me (who turned out to be John Stewart....) and he was all impressed at my find. He helped me return the clam one to the ocean and we started looking for a good place to put the squid one without making it vulnerable to predators. I looked in the steep sand banks (which were so steep it was sometimes hard to stand) and I came across another small den in the sand. I peeked in and discovered there was a lioness in there with cubs. I was shocked because, really, wtf was a lioness doing on the beach?! They were newborn cubs and she was cleaning them. She looked up at me but wasn't scared of me. Right next to her den was another small den that seemed perfect for my squid conch. The squid really wanted to dig itself back in the sand and soak up some more water so I put it back and that's exactly what it did. IP: Logged |

Hi MW; I've thought about your dream for a couple of days now, and I keep wondering are you thinking of having another baby??Your dream sounds like a pregnancy dream, with the fact that you were in a sense "mothering" the creatures in the shells, and then you also saw the Lioness mothering her cubs, but you said, it was displaced, as in, the lion was on the beach and she shouldn't be there, so, maybe this is a desire of yours that you think on the conscious level to be "displaced" as in, the wrong timing, etc. John Stewart came along to provide some comedic relief for you, maybe saying not to take yourself too serious these days. Also you digging at the surface makes me think you are possibly rethinking some old ideas or outmoded beliefs and "scratching the surface" to see what lies beneath. Conch shells, aren't those the ones that you can blow to make noise? Would you like to communicate something to someone at this time, but maybe feel unsure of what you want to say or how you want to say it? IP: Logged |

I'd LOVE to have another baby. I have one son from a previous relationship and he's 11 years old (almost). My boyfriend wants one but not for a couple years when we get a house because he'll feel more settled then.I am a bit anxious becuase I'm about to turn 38 and I'm terrified, really, of not being able to have them when HE'S ready. Know wot I mean? So I can see what you mean by the mothering symbolism. I don't know why I didn't notice that before. Know what's funny? I *just* got back from a trip to the Carribean. I went out to the ocean to a sand bank where people feed the sting rays. I swam with them, held them, played with them and fed them squid! The water was only 3 or 4 feet deep because it was a big sand bank by a coral reef. I actually found a conch, picked it up and just marvelled at it. I didn't think of this dream until today when I came back here and checked the dream forum. I also saw a baracuda when snorkeling that day! IP: Logged | |
