Last night I watched a film called, 'Suspect Zero'. If you are interested in this subject and have never seen this movie, I highly recommend it.

If you are unfamiliar with this topic, here are some places to start....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_viewing
http://www.remoteviewing.com/
http://www.rviewer.com/

Anyway, I thought it was interesting, because in the movie, canidates for remote viewing were said to have the following characteristics...

*Never been married
*Migraine headaches
*Genius or above average I.Q.
*Tendonitis
*Difficulty forming personal attachments
*Obsessive behavior
*VIVID DREAMS

I would assume that like anything, not every single person would have all of those qualities. Just like in disease, a patient may present with some symptoms, but not all, and still have the disease, these are just guidelines.

In the film, Ben Kingsley was a former FBI agent, trained in remote viewing for the government.
His group was then "super trained" and formed a sort of splinter group called, "Project Icarus."
I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so, suffice to say, that these things can go very, very, wrong.

So, what say you?
If you could do this, would you?
Would you do it for the military? The government in general?
Would you volunteer to help find missing people, even at the risk of your own health?

*I couldn't help but notice that in the film, Ben Kingsley's character is named, "Benjamin O'Ryan."
At one point, a psychologist is explaining to another agent, played by Aaron Eckhart, that these people are like "black holes."
When you say, "O'Ryan", it sounds like "Orion." Cool.

I've never heard of it. What is remote viewing? Sounds like an interesting movie though,I'm probably going to see it

Hi CS;

It's a technique where a person can sit in one place, and see things happening in another place.

This is why the government is interested in it.

The remote viewers can see what people are doing from literally thousands of miles away.

There are some sites that teach how to do this yourself.

if you are interested in remote viewing there are any number of people teaching it thru online courses...but they are charging a pretty penny for it.

RUSSELL TARG - a physicist and probably genius, though i don't think he had most of the other traits - was part of the long study of remote viewing funded FIRST by the cia and armed forces and then by stanford research institute. this is not fantasy or sci-fi. during the cold war both russia and the us had psychic spies operating nonstop!

since it has been declassified and the program discontinued many of the former operatives are teaching the skill - which targ and his scientific crew demonstrated can be taught to pretty much anyone - and making quite a lot of money at it too.

whether i trust any of those salesmen is dubious. but the information is available if you look for it - for free, or the price of some books...the interesting thing for me is that targ's group pretty much proved that if you can see at a distance you can also see into other timeframes

also that they discovered that electromagnetic energy in the environment can interfere with remote viewing, in fact shielded premises increase reliability. which jibes with my feeling that all the electronic communications we enjoy so much, computers, tvs, cellphones, probably actually IMPAIR our telepathic abilities and certainly do not help them, though they are good for getting us used to the sort of instant communication inherently available to us..

Hi Kat;

If you google remote viewing, there are free "classes" on it as well.

IDK if I am actually interested in it or not.
My brother was talking about this ALOT before he "lost the plot" and disappeared from all of our lives.
Paranoia runs rampant in my family.

When I posted this, it disappeared.

I had to really consider if I should or should NOT repost it.

It's very intersting though.

WAIT, Kat, other timeframes?? Past AND future????

That's incredible.

BTW, I don't doubt that our electronics would impair us from this stuff. Too much electromagnetic vibrations are cutting off so much! On purpose? One must wonder.

But, in the film, Ben Kingsley spent, I think 7 years living in a basement with only a police type scanner thing.

This is a subject I have been interested in for almost twenty years. I practiced remote viewing myself almost daily for a full five years, and even though I did not 'hit' every target (not even close), there were enough very good hits to keep me interested. The odds of making any good hit are astronomical if the proper protocols are followed, and when you see your own notes compared with the target, there is just no room for doubt. It is an awesome feeling to "see" your target before you know what it is! And then to have it verified ... nothing like it.

Past, present, future ... it does not matter. The important thing is to follow the protocols. Without proper structure, and without proper feedback on the target, it isn't truly remote viewing.

Russ Targ is an excellent source. My remote viewing heroes, however, are Ingo Swann and Joe McMoneagle.

That is awesome RA! Very interesting subject indeed.

I guess what I wonder is if (and this could be totally influenced by the film) there have been any studies done on if there are any long term psychological damage to the folks who can do this.

I suppose it depends on what exactly you are viewing.

Like in the film, Ben Kingsley's character was not able to "shut it off," which must be a sort of living hell.

I'm off to google the folks you and Kat mentioned... thanks for popping in, great to SEE you!

Wow! I didn't know that, Ra!
