Things have been very strange in my life lately.

I slept ALL weekend, wasn't feeling well.

I woke this morning at some UNGodly hour, after a dream of eating my own hair!

I had it, unattached from my head, like in a long strand, then I braided it, and rolled it up like sushi, and ate it!
I can still recall the taste! YUCK!

*PS. I wasn't hungry when I went to bed.

I read that the braiding of hair in a dream is the forging of a new friendship and that eating hair means that you would be well advised to give more attention to your own affairs and less to the affairs of others...no idea of this is right because I have nothing to compare it to. LOL

I did look it up, and found nothing about eating it, unfortunately.

But the weird thing, is that I ended a 27 year friendship this weekend. Seems like I should of dreamed that I UN-braided my hair, huh?

Gypsee:

But maybe the eating it has something to do with that friendship ending....no idea!

Weird running into this topic.
The day before yesterday I was watching a talk show, and they were speaking about a girl who ate her hair. She went to hospital complaining of abdominal pains and after x-rays they found a foreign body in her tummy. They then operated, to find a giant hairball about a foot long.

I have no interpretation, but I found the coincidence of running into this topic when I just saw that on telly, something to note.

Gypsee, your dream made me think of the uroboros, the snake eating its own tail.
Your hair braided, and then you eat it.

Generally uroboros means beginnings and endings. I think you're probably experiencing this now prominently?

PS - oh my gawd, i just googled it and read this:
"The Milky Way Galaxy is the inspiration for the symbol of the Ouroboros. Myth refers to a serpent of light residing in the heavens. The Milky Way is this serpent, and viewed at galactic central point near Sagittarius, this serpent eats its own tail." http://www.crystalinks.com/ouroboros.html
Scroll down and you'll see more on that. Sheesh. Weird!

Maybe your body just wants more protein or amino acids?
I think it is a good idea to rule out the physical when it comes to eating or cravings in dreams.

quote:
Chemical Composition of Hair
Human hair is a complex fiber made up of various morphologic components and different chemical species. The chemical composition of hair fiber includes essential functional elements like amino acids, keratin, melanin, and protein.

Very cool! I've always been drawn to that symbol. In fact, the serpent eating it's tail is a tatoo I've wanted forever. Thanks for that link, MVM.

My Dad gave me a snake ring, actually they are two snakes entwined together with diamonds in the eyes, and then I had another large diamond that came from my Grandma's wedding ring, sort of embedded between the two snakes, making them into one.
I've always liked snakes. Never had one, but I like the looks of them. How cool they are associated with Sag.

Well Lexx, after my follow up visit to my new rhuematologist, he found no vitamin D in my blood work and also, I still have the luekopenia, which is low, low, low iron.

The new Lupus meds will take care of the leukopenia, but I have to take a huge mega dose of vitamin D twice a week. HUGE dose. So, I think you have a point, probably ALOT of our dreams are our bodies speaking to us, but unfortunately, not eveyone can see the doctor, or find these mysterious things out.
I feel very bad for them.
