I explained the guide that we have made a mistake, that we are in the wrong bus… I run to the driver and asked her to stop, that my sister and I had to get off.

My sister had a passive behaviour. She let me lead, appeared to be scared to intervene, indecisive (she’s not that way in real life)…

We got off in the coach depot. And then what?? I was sure the trip was today. But where from? And where to? Lisbon?

I didn’t remember where the travel agency was. But I did remember a social club where they would tell me the travel agents phone number for sure… I rang them but they weren’t answering the phone… We could go there in person… Which underground station was it close to? I’m pretty sure it was Nuńez de Balboa (It’s a Madrid underground station but it doesn’t have any special meaning for me).

I worked out a plan. We at least had an hour minimum. If we missed the bus we might not be able to go, but where from and what time was our bus departing? We probably wouldn’t have time to get home and pack some luggage. We would go first where I think the agency is. If we couldn’t find it then we would try with the social club because they were near and it could have opened by then… They would tell us how to get there or its telephone number. Once we knew about the bus, if we had time we would go home to get some clothes. Otherwise, we would buy some in the way.

The underground proved hard to navigate through, it was really complicated to get to the right place…
