I had a dream while I was dozing in and out of a nap with my daughter. I heard an old rotary dial telephone "ring" I swear it was real but when I opened my eyes, my dog was asleep so I know I dreamnt it. What would it mean??

hmmm maybe so? I never actually saw the phone, only heard the ringing and you can't mistake an old rotary dial phone..it's pretty distinct!!

Exactly, and sometimes our dream minds use these symbols so they can't be mistaken.

If it was a regular ring, it may be construed differently.
But, a rotary phone is something from the past, so, to me that would be to try and make sure you notice 'the past part'.
