I often hear my name being called while I'm asleep and it wakes me up.

Sometimes it's so clear that I get out of bed to see if someone's at the door.

I'm not sure if it's always the same voice or not.

It's been happening for over a year.
Only recently have I started to wonder if it means anything, why someone or something would be trying to get my attention.

I wish I remembered the voice.
The first thing on my mind when waking is wondering if someone is here.
After that I try to recall, but no luck.

On a few occasions I've thought maybe my mother is at the door, so possibly a female voice?

I don't recall anything else said. I wake when I hear my name called.

Did your friend start having similar experiences before she started developing as a clairaudient?

Just had a reply back from my mate and this is what she said:

She asked...

"is she having a hard time at the mo? is her life throwing up challenges that may not seem too problematic, but is there something that she is missing? I ask, as often we ignore things that are right in front of us, and it takes intervention from them up there to make you see.

is she scared? if she feels uneasy by the presence then before she goes to bed, simply say to herself, or out loud 'tonight i will sleep uninterrupted. If you have something to say, find another way of doing it, instead of disturbing my sleep'. Sounds bonkers, but so often these spirits think they can just barge in!

If she's not scared, i would suggest she spend some time, on her own, in a relaxed state, and ask in her head, or out loud, who the person is that is coming to visit. Often the very first thought/picture/smell we get is the answer, before our logic tries to work out what's going on. Instinct is best on this one. Sitting in this state is great for asking questions, and finding out what they want, or simply as above, to tell them to find a more obvious way of letting you know, as i do feel with this constant interruption that they have something to say otherwise they probably wouldn't go on and on like this, a year is a long time to be woken up.

Is she a medium of any kind, does she have it in her family? this is also often the state of waking up the clairvoyant, so if she's ever felt she was a bit different/gifted then this may be simply a wake up call. But i would initially get her to try talking herself before she goes to bed mainly to clear the energy if she's not happy about, and also just for clarity."

It's right in my ear though, not as if someone is at the door. It wakes me up sometimes too.
It can be male sounding or female.

Also, it seems now that other people around me are hearing their names being called.

I often wonder if my bedroom is haunted, because the sound comes from there, for the other folks.

At least two to three times a week, one of the kids or other family members will poke their head in my bedroom door and say, "did you just call me?"

I never do.
Sometimes even the dog comes running into my room, the same way he does when called, yet I didn't call him.

I don't feel scared or uneasy at all. I really only considered it a subconscious dream thing and posted looking for an interpretation.

I've been feeling 'stuck' for a while so an intervention would make sense.
I will do as your friend suggests and see if I find an answer

My grandmother tells me her mother and one of her sisters were both intuitively gifted. I'm not (well, not so far lol).

Funny thing, on the 28th of May I asked on the astrology board ...

I have Pallas and Psyche at 6 degrees Aquarius, conjunct Moon (9.45), Fortuna (7.49) and N.Node/MC midpoint (7.37) in 8th house (unequal) or 9th house (equal).

What would this mean please?

@Evanski: That is very good psychic potential. You will surely have luck in Pineal Gland awakening, and any attempts to do this are good for you. Had the Moon been at 6 degrees too, then ESP would have been very easy.

It must have been strange finding out that not everyone else hears 'voice/s'.
Would you be clairaudient?

When I wake,(after hearing my name),I have that feeling you get when you've heard the phone ring but just missed the call. I feel like maybe I just missed something.
But I've always thought of it as a dream, a message from my subconscious.

The part where he says they may 'use the voice of loved ones temporarily until you realize they are there' had me thinking of the times I thought maybe my mother was at the door.

I don't hear a voice when awake. I don't always hear one everytime I sleep either, well, not that I recall.

You must be a very close family if this even happens to your dog lol
