This is a fairly common dream. It can simply reflect a bit of anxiety about your relationship, especially if your boyfriend has not been paying you the usual or necessary attention lately. Probably it is nothing serious.

How is your relationship going lately? Are things good? Have you had any arguments recently? Any stress or anxiety in recent days? Has he been acting like his normal self?

One of the things is that he's 'behind' you in line when he's with her and you look at them - it's like you're looking at his past since it's 'behind' you.
But alternatively, you say you're watching from the background, which means that you're uncomfortable with his past in general maybe, and also that your having no association with his past makes you seethe - as though you didn't have enough influence on him. I think your dream is trying to tell you to put the past behind you since it's already behind you, and to leave it there.......?

Ra-actually things are better than they have been, which makes me worried almost...lol like Im worried if I give into being happy, it will disappear.
