So, the other night I dreamt that I was going to school... college, I assume, and when I got there, it felt like I was late.
Actually more than late, it seemed like I had missed weeks of classes, and I was very anxious about what I'de missed, how it would affect my grades, if I could catch up, etc...

Anyway, I had my dog Mojo with me (?) and I ran into my friend Melinda, who was sitting under a tent. Next to Melinda were two cats and a dog.
Immediately I became even more anxious because I wondered whose they were, what was going to happen to them, and so on.

I asked Melinda if she was responsible for the animals, and she just shrugged and said, "no, I guess you are."
Then I woke up.

*The Situation in Real Life

Melinda is actually a co-worker of mine that works there only one day a week.
Recently she split with her husband and she requested more hours from our boss.

He didn't reply when she asked, but later on he told me that when he offered her more hours in the past, she always had too many stipulations on whether she could or could not work them.

So, another full time co-worker is getting married at the end of the month, and the boss is expecting that when she does, she will quit, because her hubby to be does not want her out at night working in the bar.

My boss told me this, and was almost insistant that I take all her hours, which would have me at work 7 days a week.
I can't even tell you how many hours that would be, probably around 70.

So, when I saw Melinda, I was telling her about the girl that may be quitting, and that I could not possibly, with my health issues work that many hours, and would she volunteer for some of them?

She was so very non-chalant about it, and she said, "as long as they fit my schedule, and don't interfere with any plans that I may have."
I was a little miffed.

Anyway, clearly school in my dream represents work. Obviously the anxiety is showing, but also the fact that I felt 'late' or 'behind' in some way, is my own insecurity issues about being the 'New Kid on The Block', and feeling like I can't "catch up" to the others.

There are 3 days to be filled, and there were 3 animals beside Melinda.
Melinda is in a tent. I feel this represents her transitional station in life right now (the divorce thing) and also that since she is my friend, I thought I could turn to her for help. A tent being a shelter/safe haven of sorts.

The fact that she wanted me to be responsible for the animals is the same attitude that she had when I asked her about working the hours... kind of like a "it sounds like YOUR problem, not mine," kind of thing.

Anyway, I have no point with this, I was just giving an example of how a somewhat strange, out of place dream, can very clearly reflect our every day lives.
