To anyone out there!

I had a gruesome nightmare last night. It was so bad I couldn't sleep and I needed to get up just to calm myself down. I really wanted to wake my husband up to talk about it, but I thought that would be selfish as he does need his sleep!!

The main theme was about a murder I saw. There was blood etc and a young woman had been murdered. I don't want to go into it as it is a bit disturbing. I do have nightmares at least every couple of months, but not like this. It was so graphic and real. I guess that's why I was so shaken.

What are nightmares and why do we have them? Any ideas?

Thankyou!

Love and Peace,
Sunmeadow Glades.

HI sunmeadow..
I am so sorry to hear of your nightmare..
I think sometimes we are getting out stress in our minds but no I don't really understand. If you post this in astral realms they can probably help you to analyze the dream better

I am so sorry it disturbed you!

Dear theFajita,

Thankyou for your reply! I've been thinking of this particular nightmare all day - analysing it etc. It has shaken me up quite a bit, and I feel quite emotional. But, I am a sensitive soul. I'll just have to call on my Arien courage and strength!! :Aries:
Love and Peace,

P.S. I was going through a cookbook tonight to see what to cook for tea (dinner) and I came across a recipe for some fajitas. Is this the origin of your codename?

yes it is

Nothin like tasty sizzlin' fajitas with a hefty dash of salsa and squeeze of lime

I'm so sorry about your dream. I know it sucks to wake up and feel more stressed and tired than you did when you went to bed..

Whatever would we do without mirrors?

Oh I don't know to be honest! The place I hope to move to with roommates has a lot of mirrors

Hi!

This new arrival has something to add to this old thread...

I sometimes have nightmares too, but most of mine have a twist -- that make me laugh at myself (what else can you do, sometimes!). I have found that a lot of them happen when I am in some sleeping position where my breathing gets partly blocked-- an arm flung across my face, or on my stomach, face too buried in a pillow. The physical panic (thank you body for doing your job!!) turns into a bad nightmare, like a doorbell from Hell, trying to inform me that I better wake up!! Since I've been with my partner I notice he occasionally gets a physically-induced nightmare too. I've even gently moved him to a less breathing-impaired position in his sleep, then watched his beginning nightmare fade away.

I think certain nightmares, however, can be picked up from the sometimes troubled vibrations of the world around us. I once had a dream about an evil situation in a country I'd never visited, and it was so distressing I asked some wise friends I respect for help-- and put together a cleansing ritual where I asked the Divine to help those in the actual situation I saw in the dream, as well as help me with my own healing from viewing the traumatic events. Part of it involved taking a very hot, long bath, using herbs and visualization to return to the scene of the evil and invoke the presence of the Divine to cleanse and put it right (by "invoke", I mean "request"; I have no power to "conjure" up deities!). That's how I handled it, because this nightmare haunted me until I did something about it. Perhaps you were picking up on some reality somewhere, sometime; dreams work across time and space. A past life experience, maybe, triggered by some event.

I thinnk that worry about war and international terrorism has translated into more restless sleep, and more nightmares for a lot of people.

Anyhow I'm sure you have already found some answers and some healing for your situaiton.

cheers,
Lunargirl

Thankyou Lunagirl for your reply. When I have a nightmare now, I make myself stay awake to work out a more positive ending to the dream. This seems to relieve the nightmarish feeling of the dream and gives me back some power over the disturbing feelings of the dream.

The ritual sounds like a good idea. I think it is a good idea to use and harness your true inner power.

Once again, thankyou for your kind and informative reply.

Love and Peace,
Sunmeadow Glades.
