I think alot of people confuse precognitive dreams with wish fulfillment dreams.

I know I have, and still do.

If we want something bad enough, whether consciously or unconsciously it seems logical that it would show up in our dream world.

Here is a pretty good read on wish fulfillment dreams.

Ah...thanks for posting this!

"All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. The only distinction is that, with some people, suicide is a subconscious choice, and with others it's a conscious choice. Otherwise, those who commit suicide and those who succumb to accident, illness or "old age," die for exactly the same reason: belief in the inevitability of death." Linda Goodman

How do you tell the difference between a precognitive dream and a wish fulfillment dream? Is there a way to distinguish?

I recently had a dream that may be wish fulfillment. I posted here about it already. It was about how this girl I like said she was coming over and was driving to meet me but my sister was in the passenger seat.

The interesting thing about "sister" and "pass-enger seat" was that a psychic said we were sisters in a past life so " past seat " of sister in past life. So maybe my actual sister represented me in that dream and in this life she will be my friend or girlfriend, I don't know. She took care of me in a past life. I am skeptical of past lives, cause I'm Christian (its beliefs) I just don't know what to think about it. But maybe she will take the initiative to hang out and come over. But here's where the wish fulfillment part comes in, the term "coming over" could mean something erotic? However it could also not mean that because in waking life I do not think that term "*** on" etc. turns me on, do you know what I mean, Gypsee?

Look at this too, from dreammoods

Driving
To dream that you are driving a vehicle, signifies your life's journey and your path in life. The dream is telling of how you are moving and navigating through life. If you are driving and cannot see the road ahead of you, then it indicates that you do not know where you are headed in life and what you really want to do with yourself. You are lacking direction and goals.

Metaphorically, driving a car in your dream, is analogous to your sex life and sexual performance. Consider how you are driving and what kind of car you are driving and how it relates to your waking sex life. Or the dream may be a pun on your "drive" or ambition.

In the past there was an effort for intimacy by her and it didnt work out so perhaps my mind is trying to make it work but in a not so daring way. Damn I think I solved it, its wish fulfillment :/ Wait but the SUV she was driving was white and that says alot! An SUV points to a settled life, am I wishing she'd settle with me and we'd do this in a purified way?? hmm something I've got to think about.

I think it's wish fulfillment Uranus.

But, I am going to look up some stuff on precog dreams b/c surely they have commonalities, one would think!

The scientific explanation... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precognition

Some case studies.. http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/precognitive-dreams.html

I'm still looking for like a list of signs that it would be precog.
Like surely people have similiar symbolism with this, I would imagine?

Check out these links tell if its precognitive http://learn-telekinesis-training.com/precognitive-dream.php
http://deanradin.blogspot.com/2007/08/precognitive-dream.html

It looks like they are vivid and just stand out from all the other dreams you always dream. Then you listen to your gut after you wake up to see if its precognitive. That's the gist of their saying. The second link is interesting of how this woman had a precognitive dream of an accident, I'll let you read it.

I read your links, its basically saying precognitive dreams could be picked up subconsciously, or by our bodies etc. But I think there's a field, perhaps a physics kind of field that intertwines with us and we can pick up the future through that. There must be a name for that. Its just a guess.

On a spiritual note, it could be God/Higher Power warning you if its a not so positive one and the opposite of that would be to meet your future husband or wife. The latter is like 'he/she's the one!'

Dreaming is so cool. Haven't been able to recall. Probably because I've been busy during the better part of the day.

Good thoughts Uranus, also, I wanted to add that I think in some cases you'll know if a dream is precog if it is shared with another.

I remember as a child having the same dreams as my Grandpa, and now as an adult I share dreams with my son and my boyfriend.

In fact, the other night, I dreamt that my boyfriend moved into the same trailer park that I live in, and I was telling him the dream. He stopped me in the middle, and said, "Wait, I know this dream!" and then he finished the dream.

NOTE: It was SIMILIAR, but not exact. Which would make sense because each of us perceives dreams and images in a different way, and we put our own individual spin on them.
