What extactly is a astral realm? I know the concept behind it, but does each realm have a theme so to speak?

How many realms are there?

Its given in detail in the spiritual books. Not only astral realms but cosmic etc. U can get hold of one. The one book that immediately comes to my mind is Autobiography of a Yogi. It is nicely explained there.

Astral Travel to Mars, Astral Travel to Jupiter and Panchakosha Siddhanta - A Perfect Truth. All the three are on the same page. The third one a little below. Pancha means five, Kosha means sheath and Siddhanta is principle. These sheaths correspond to different realms(they are also mentioned in Autobiography of a Yogi). You can find even some other interesting topics like rebirth on the same page. This person who is a doctor has written several good books but i am not aware if all of them are in English too.

Different realms. 7 are lower ones. 7 correponding to the 7 chakras in our body and 7 are the higher ones. GOD is beyond this. It is the Supreme Power. Our Soul is in the 7th chakra as you can see. I hope this helps.
