In my dream I was given a purple fairy that was trapped inside a small metal box.

The person who gave it to me said "You must never free the fairy."

But I went right ahead and freed it as soon as I could and as it flew off it spoke to me said "Thank you for freeing me, I am going to fix all of your troubles for you now."..

This was two nights ago& I'm still mulling it over, any ideas on the meaning(s)..

You've freed your spiritual self

How did you feel when freeing the fairy? When you woke up?

Wow Starfox
I KNOW that means something very profound. It has to be.
In dreams, one's symbols are one's own .This makes it hard for another person to interpret.
Just some guesses,though.

Inside you, something very beautiful and profound was trapped. You were told/conditioned not to go there.
You were told not to be a spiritual person, perhaps.
Maybe your family frowned on"airy Fairy" things.
You did not listen and opened it up ,anyway.
You opened a part of yourself that was bound.
It was grateful.

I felt really good about freeing her & when I woke up I felt more optimistic about life than I have in a long time..

Yes Ami, I think something like that may be correct, thanks for your interpretation it was such an amazing dream!

Also I have been chatting to a girl who I am interested in getting to know further and she told me earlier that purple is her favourite colour!

Purple is the color of the Crown chakra if I'm not mistaken. It's a spiritual color. Not many people have in their aura.

Most dreams are black and white...or the colors are not standing out. A prominent color is important.

Really Randall? I've read that it's rare that someone dreams in black and white. I know I always see color.

Almost all the people i know have black and white dreams. Rarely do they get coloured ones. But i somehow always have coloured dreams. So i checked up and learnt that those who have coloured dreams have a vivid imagination.

Lovely dream Starfox!!

I guess if you dream in color all the time, it loses its significance.

Not really so in my experience.
Some colours will still stick out above others like the purple in my dream.

I have the same experience of some colours standing out. So i guess we are sailing in the same boat of coloured dreams.

Yes,I would agree with adcd efg Starfox
I think it would be the color of the crown chakra which fits with the rest of the dream ,too !

Yeah, that's true. Last night, one of my dreams was in color, but I was eating cheesecake (which really wasn't--it was pound cake), and the yellow stood out.
