It began a few years ago, when I was lying in bed trying to force myself to go back to sleep because I knew if I didn't I would be tired later in the day.I happened to be gazing into a small paper printout of an egyptian tomb, and then it happened. It was terrifying. There is no proper way to describe, and i don't think anyone can understand that terror unless they have themselves felt it. I will talk about it anyway. I felt tremendous pressure on me, which somehow coincided with loud deep rumbling, and I could see but I could not move. Not knowing at all what was happening, feeling like some cloudy force was strangling me or something like that, i screamed the loudest scream of my life. I did regain control over my body, and immediately I ran to the kitchen to calm my family down, as I was sure they must have been terrified by that harrowing scream. i run into the kitchen to find them peacefully eating. Shocked and growing ever more weirded out, I ask "what, you weren't going to help me?" My brother and my mom look back at me in genuine confusion. They had not heard me scream!!

From that day on, I was terrified of that 'experience-thing'. I didn't know what to call it. The worst part was I didn't know if anyone else had ever experienced such. Then somehow or other I came across the term sleep paralysis, and I realized that's what it must have been. I knew that the people who spoke of it and hadn't experienced it had no idea what they meant by "fear" that can come along with it, but just to know that there were others who felt this was comforting to me.
Despite my fear, it did happen again. And looking back on it all now, with every time it happened I left my body more. (it started with flying-bouncing into the walls and furniture in my room) I never wanted it to happen. i always dreaded that it might. And I started noticing that it happened mostly when I went back to sleep after a while of being awake in bed. So I tried to just avoid that situation. Then the force started just invading my dreams, and I would find myself thrown up into the air in my dreams, against my will, wishing I were able to keep my feet on the ground. I don't remember when exactly, but at some point I decided I just didn't care if it happened anymore if whatever I did didn't stop it, but that I was going to at least try my best. I tried to ground myself by exercising, by trying my best to feel in my body. This did help, but only to control it. So now, it feels more like flying to me. It is no longer terrifying somehow, it is more something that a part of me (that part of me that dreams) has learned to work with. It is strange; I do not know if the places I have flown to with this new and amazing ability are in the future, the past, or in parallel dimensions, but there is nothing that could shake the certainty with which I know that they do exist. Strange how something so indescribably scary turned into something so interesting.

There have been some times where I have been with a soul-mate of mine who I desperately want to forget (that's a whole other story), but most of the time, now that I go with the flow and just fly with it, I end up visiting people I have never seen and having conversations with them I do not remember in the morning. All I know is that astral traveling, as I am now sure is what it is, is not really something people want. I think it just happens. I don't know, just something about the way I see all these posts on the internet about "learn how to astral project/travel etc..." like it's always and in every sense something desirable...I'm just not sure I can see it happening that way for some reason.

If you really want to have an OBE ,you body needs to get really tired so you are too tired to fight it lol
The easiest times are when you go on a trip and you come home and are so so tired.
The easiest techniques involve waking up in the middle of the night and getting wide awake.
Stay up for a few hours. Then,go back to sleep.

Well,I will help you if you want Randall. We can have a thread where we can talk about our progress. I want to start again, too.
Just talking about it gets the process started cuz your subconscious mind gets the idea implanted--so to speak lol
This is one easy technique with which to start.During your waking hours, say "Am I dreaming?"
Repeat it, to yourself, as many times as you can during the day.
In time, when you dream ,you will ask that same question. Then ,you will be lucid dreaming which is being"awake " in your dream.
Lucid dreaming is a first step to OBE's
