“There are many mountains one can climb. Some mountains are surrounded by valleys. One must cross the valley before reaching the other mountain. Other mountains are surrounded by water. One must build a raft or pay the fee to ride a ferry across to another mountain.”

Some years ago I was malingering heavily with a friend. We would drive around the city every night smoking blunts. Our favorite road was lakeshore drive. I had a dream that I was driving with this friend of mine up a mountain, and that we drove off a cliff. I didn’t know then what this dream meant the night I had it, but I suddenly had a strong urge to leave this friend for better or worst.

After we crashed, he disappeared, but I was on a boat, and the boat was traveling across a body of water which resembled a river cutting through mountains, but was wide enough and deep enough to also be a lake. While on the boat, I was studying to pass a certification exam but before I could even read a word in my books, the boat began to sink. That was the end of the dream.

When I look back at this dream from my current point in life I see that when I broke with this friend, who I put a lot of energy into, and made plans with for future events - such as starting a band, or “climbing a mountain” - I did exactly what happened in my dream, suddenly broke away, or walked away from the car crash which was our self-destructive behavior occurring between the two of us - womanizing, smoking blunts, getting wasted, ripping on people, watching jersey shore, etc.

Now after I broke off with my friend I tried to get on a boat to pass the cpa, but I hadn’t learned to cope with all my emotions flowing like a river. Smoking blunts and cigarettes, non-stop, every day for several years and then suddenly stopping sunk my boat, so to speak, or my self-created structure, or fairy to cross the river surrounding this mountain(starting a band with a drug, friend, abusing ******* ) to get to the next mountain(professional certification to buy instruments and meet people with more integrity).

I am now in a spot were when looking back, the meaning of this dream is pretty clear, and exactly what happened subconsciously. But this doesn’t always happen. In order for dreams to work like this, you have to pay attention to the dream. If I would have had this dream and pushed it aside, I would not have had the necessary hostility to break away from this friend. I would have continued with my flawed way of thinking, that everyone deserves a lot of chances since we are all great souls deep down inside. My dream helped me overcome my care bare logic and move on to new worlds (mountains) where the roads aren’t as hazardous, and the people (friend in the passenger seat before crash) do not promote fatal accidents, such as attempting to convince you to drive drunk all in the name of a pack of smokes.

Thank the Lord for dreams.

Putting Astrology in the title does not automatically make the content fit this Forum. Moving to Astral Realms.
