I dreamed every detail of my Mother's death nearly 2 years before it occurred. Even the fact that she died somewhere I didn't know existed until years later. Since then, I've not been able to dream and remember at all. Any speculations as to why?

Did it bother you? The dream and her death? Sometimes these things go deep down in our subconscious mind. Like if we don't want something from the bottom of our heart it doesn't come. So, if you were very uncomfortable with all this your mind and your subconscious mind would have decided to spare you of it. Hence no indicative dreams.

And what could you not remember at all?

Did you get such dreams before this one often? Because, another perspective could be that if you loved her a lot then you were prepared for the event mentally in your dream. It gave a cushioning effect. Just what i thought could be.

I agree.

There has been much emotional pain. Your subconscious mind is protecting you from any further anguish. But you will dream again. In time, your mind will adjust, and you will remember your dreams. And it is about the remembering ... you are probably dreaming, but simply do not recall it, due to your mind's defenses. You are not remembering because it may be too painful to remember at this time.

I am getting the feeling there is a good reason for this. I feel like you may be dreaming about your mother, and perhaps she is visiting you in the dream-time, but circumstances in your waking life would not go so well if you remembered and experienced the pain. You are protecting yourself until such a time that you are ready.

How do you feel about that?

@abcd efg If I dream and I know it, I don't remember it. I was pregnant both at the time that I dreamed it and again when she died. I remembered it because it was the worst dream I had ever had. It happened exactly the way I dreamed it, except I had dreamed that during her death I had a son. I was actually pregnant with a boy and didn't know. I was pretty amazed. But it was a vry painful thing to go through. I had previously had many prophetic dreams, just not with events of this magnetude. More like the grade I would get on a test, or that I'd see someone I hadn't in a while. I believe it really cushioned the blow.

@Ra I went to bed last night with my question on my mind and dreamed of my mother, but I couldn't remember the dream, just that she was there. Maybe I am protecting myself. I felt when I had that dream that what I know to be a blessing was a curse. Feeling a bit better.

You have come alright - with a bang. . Btw i had dreamt my mom's passing away too. But the incident i saw in dream was not exactly of the time she was passing away but when she was being taken away. It was ditto except one thing - I saw a Lion instead of her. So couldn't make out much but deep down in my heart i knew. But wasn't very sure. And when i faced that scene in real life I knew - this is it.

my mother is still alive, but she had a colon cancer operation a few years ago. and i had a prophetic dream about it.

the dream showed her passed out in a pool of blood in the toilette. i called her immediately to get a check up... and they found the cancer.

luckily the operation was successful and she is still on treatment but it's not the worst.

i normally don't have prophetic dreams of this clarity. but have had some that predicted certain situations in more vague ways.
