I don't know much about dream analysis, but the other night I had an exceptionally scary dream. I figured I'd describe it and see what you guys think. I also can't remember a lot of details but I'll record what I remember.

FACT: My parents are divorced and their living situation is within walking distance.

My dream started off in my dads house, I was with my younger sister and my best friend. We were in the back helping each other grill food when something happened. I don't know if it was a flash or anything like that, but the next thing I knew the three of us saw silhouettes of our bodies frozen standing by the grill. It was like we were in some kind of parallel universe. We knew there was something wrong and we had to find the answer to it, so we started exploring the neighborhood. We got to the top of the hill separating my parents houses and there were a line of people. The people were standing side by side all wearing black business suits, male and female and they wouldn't talk to us or let us through. Somehow we came up with the idea that there had to be a secret way to get past. (Mind you everything in this 'realm' was not how it should be. floating objects, everything was just 'off', like anything was possible.) We found a way through what was like a subway but streets. No cars, no trains, just people. We found a store that had all of the items we required (which I don't recall what they are or why we needed them, but we did) and the lady that was working there wouldn't sell to us because we didn't have any of the currency. I kept stressing to her how important it was we got back to where we were from and she didn't care. So while my best friend and sister waited I had stolen the items we needed and we ran. Running throughout this underground setting we ran into some animals. (This is where the dream started to really freak me out.) There were four or five of them, the only two I really remember were a medium sized dog and a big cat, such as a cheetah or leopard. All of the animals were completely black like our silhouettes, but they had blue markings. No distinct faces. And the dog was the leader, he could talk. He told us he knew the way to my mom's house and we could find the answers there. He warned us of the monsters outside though, and explained that that was why the people in suits were blocking the way. The animals helped us to the house. In the house, in reality, there is a small save behind a picture frame in the basement. We searched the house and came to that safe and opened it. When we opened it, the dog suddenly knew the answer for us. Darkness followed the information out of the safe and we ran to my old bedroom and hid in there, all of us. The dog told us that the monsters would be there soon and that it was very very dangerous. The only way to get back home was to go back to my dads and rejoin our silhouettes. He said he could only take one of us with him for a guaranty way back home.
I gave him my sister and they were gone. The big cat agreed to help us by distracting the monsters while we looked around the house for something to help us escape. My best friend and I ran to the back yard and she climbed into a trash can that then had the ability to float and I was on top of a giant board that worked like a magic carpet. I remember looking and seeing one of the monsters. They were huge, much bigger then me. They walked on two legs and had four arms, red markings all over them. They were terrifying. Luckily it didn't see us and we were able to hop the fence in our 'devices' and start racing up the hill. When we got to the top of the hill we were teleported to a gas station. At the gas station, (My two best friends date each other, the girl was with me and the boy had shown up now so I will refer to them as the girl and boy) the boy showed up zipping around the corner in a really fancy and fast car. As he turned the corner he grabbed the girl and took off not having time to grab me in the fast action. I remember seeing her look at me through the back window devastated I got left behind. My only option was to rejoin the animals. I went back, and the big cat had been bitten or something by the monsters and his blue markings turned red and soon he was a monster too. I didn't have my board, and I remember running up the hill but I was no match for the monsters. I remember at the very end I was crawling and the monster was so close to me, but I turned around and kicked it in the face and I saw one of its four spiked arms start to come down towards me, and I woke up.

This was the longest detailed dream I think I've ever had. Please, share thoughts.

Hello! This is my second post on here and I'm so glad to see everyone is so friendly in this forum. I had this dream like a week or two ago and it scared the poop out of me. Whether it has any type of details that can be deciphered or not is beyond me. If I can't get anything out of it, it at least makes an interesting story ahaha.

La_keela,

it may be helpful to get yourself a dream dictionary as a starting poitn if you are interested in interpreting your dreams. I find dreams to be like tarot, the best interpreter is the dreamer, like the reader. Don't take the definitions you see as gospel, always be open to your intuition, as dreams are the realm of the unconscious, you must use both your intuitive cognition and your logical, to make sense of them in the conscious.

If you can whittle your dream down to the most prominent aspects, I can try and help you with it. Colours, people, places, emotions, and anything spoken can be very helpful. What I have found to be the most helpful though are the emotions and the words spoken, this is one of the reasons its difficult to accurately interpret another's dream - your emotions are yours, and experienced and filtered through your perception, an interpreter can try to, but it's incredibly difficult to fully put yourself in another's perceptive shoes with the correct emotional and mental placements.

There are some online dictionaries that can get you started also, if you are unable to obtain a book.
