I've been having psychic dreams for over 10 years.
I still do not know upon waking up whether I have had a psychic dream or not. I have not learned much about this phenomena, all I know is how it has helped and hindered me.

Just to name a few, I saw my neighbours cat get hit by a car to learn the following day that is what happened (in the manner I described to the neighbour- I was actually trying to warn her). When I was pregnant with Tahlea I saw a 2 year old girl with short blonde curly hair and big blue/grey eyes, a big grin with spaces between her two front teeth and I remember the look on her face! It was only 2 years later I nearly fell over, because that exact moment did occur, and her appearance was exactly how I saw my future child. When I moved into my mothers house I had a dream about my stepfather, but he shape-shifted into a snake, what followed is exactly what happened to me, though obviously he did not shape-shift! I had a dream about the birth of Angelica, it did happen the way my dream described, which is why I stop having worry about her birth because I had a dream of how it went. I also had a dream about my future son before I conceived him, it was right before I conceived him actually. I can visualise everything about him, his features, and how much I love him, when he was born I saw ALL those features in him. I was amazed. At times though I've had frightening dreams, of my ex attacking me, it was vivid, and I actually thought I was receiving another psychic dream. Disturbing!!! This violent dream was set in my garage, so from that day forward up until now I have never been in my garage alone. In my dream I was pregnant so now that I am no longer pregnant, either I have averted the disaster or it wasn't a psychic dream. I dream a lot every night and obviously they are not at all psychic dreams, but I do often see energy of people in my dreams that I can't quite explain. Every dream is vivid, full color, with HD sound, and all that, so I can't really tell the difference between a psychic dream and a regular dream. I do however, have symbolic dreams too, like that one with snake, it came true (what it was trying to say). This is all a bit scary sometimes because if I have a bad dream, which is about 2% of the time, usually involving my ex, I have to be careful because I don't know if I should act on it! There are a bulk of dreams that are obviously not psychic ones, you just know because they are so strange, like one minute I'm running through a school, next minute in an ice cream shop with a bunch of bunny rabbits, obviously it's my subconscious playing out something and not a psychic dream that recognizes the future.
I've had dreams about the future with my mum in it after my grandparents have died, I know how that is going to play out, I also know she is going to try and physically attack me, like slapping, because she is so angry with me, I saw what a certain day is going to be like. That is sad though. See, because I have a lot of dreams I don't know whether to act on the ones that just frighten me because going my the past, a lot of my dreams have came true, too many for chance to play a role.
Is there any information out there or personal experience that can describe what to look for in a psychic dream that is either literal or symbolic? It is really HARD TO TELL in my point of view.

It is not always easy to tell if it is precog or not.
You have a very good track record though.
The scary ones do make one worry for sure.

Hi SunChild,

I can tell you how it works for me, though I can't guarantee that this would be true for others...

The scariest dreams are not usually the ones that come true (though they will certainly get your attention!) it's always possible, too, they don't come true because on some level you are aware and unconsciously make changes that prevent it happening. But for me precognitive dreams have a quality of "flatness" in a way - as if it's an unemotional delivery of a fact. Dry, like a news story, without too much feeling of drama, regardless of subject matter.

Do you have a sense of "knowiing'? like with your neighbor's cat - it sounds as if you must have felt a "knowing" if you felt strong enough to warn your neighbor. Can you recall the feeling of that dream (and others you've had) and try to use that as a gauge?

When it comes to symbolic dreams - especially the ones that nag at you (I don't like these at all, very nerve wracking) IMO these are about things happening in the present that are buried below your conscious awareness but trying to get out...like the dream about your stepfather turning into a snake. You probably unconsciously knew something about him and the dream was when the knowledge broke through the surface with a symbol.

With these dreams, we probably have to get at the root of the symbolism and find that "ah-ha" moment when you know what it is.

Otherwise, I would say to be wary of too much of a fear response - that always gets me, when I think the dream is hinting at my worst fears coming true, so I get muddled and frightened - only to find the dream was hinting at something else I'd overlooked due to expecting the worst.

I hope this helps a bit.

Don’t worry, SunChild. You don't need to know which are precog and which aren’t. They aren’t so much warnings as they are practice connecting to the Akashic Record. Practice makes perfect, you know. Let them flow and their story will play out before you eventually.
