Well, I was Director at that place, looked like a school of sorts. I only saw the big lounge where everyone was sitting around. And paradoxically there was a desk and a chair in that lounge that I was completely fully fixated with! I mean, students being students would move the chair or the table and replace/reorganize the furniture of the whole room but I was completely fixated about that chair and table/desk! I wanted it at the specified (by me lol) place and if anyone moved it, I would move it back. There was a lot of moving furniture around action in that movie/dream! LOL I remember explaining to a student that this is the Director's chair and if she moved it again I would take her to the Director of Studies (I was -as I told her- the "Director of the House"!).
LOL I can't say I woke up happy from that dream. LOL The minute I turned my back, some other students would completely reorganize the furniture yet again. It was pointless to try to control the situation and yet I felt like I had to do it. I had the right and was using all my power for it. Geez, what a control freak.

Here's what Dream Moods says about it:
quote:

To see furniture in your dream represents how you feel about yourself and your family. It refers to your relationships with others and how they fit into your life.

To dream that you are moving furniture indicates that you are going out of your way to please others. Also, you may be changing your ways and trying to reevaluate your relationships/attitudes. Consider how easy or how difficult it is to move the furniture as they may indicate the level of burden or responsibility you are feeling.
To see old or worn furniture in your dream symbolizes outdated attitudes, former relationships, and/or old ways of thinking.

Although I agree that it shows my attitudes and feelings about myself and my relationships, I don't think it's about pleasing others, given the specifics of my dream. More like, trying to control them perhaps.

Hi Anon,

The sense I got from your dream was about control and not being listened to. There is something that perhaps you wish to control?

Does that resonate?

YES!!
You are spot-on about the not-being-listened-to part! It totally escaped my attention!
Wow... you just gave me food for thought, thank you, Sparklie!
So I'm thinking that perhaps the need to control was due to the fact that I was not being listened to. Makes perfect sense. Those students were totally not listening, like my power/status/position had absolutely no effect on them at all.
Thanks!! I'll give this some further thought!!
