My dream picked up with me going downstairs to the main floor to investigate banging outside. I looked out a window to see a scorpion, about the size of a small dog, knocking on the walls with its claws. It was shiny, black, and had orange flecks on its shell.

I assume it was trying to get in because it was poking at gutters and trying to lift up the flap on the bottom of my house (the flap protects against cold in the winter.) I was naturally appalled because it's huge!! I noticed that the back door, to my right, was slightly ajar. I didn't want it to come in so I went to close it properly.

The scorpion crawled up the door as I was closing it and managed to stick it's claw in. I was struggling to kick it away when it pushed its way in and scuttled past me (it was fast wow.) So I ran back upstairs, after locking the door, to warn my mom and sister.

They were dazed and generally unresponsive so I went back to peer downstairs. The scorpion was sitting in the middle of the living room and when it noticed me (I guess?) it crawled under the couch. So, unsure what to do, I just left it alone.

Later that night my mom started downstairs. I tried to warn her against it and tell her not to because the scorpion was active now, moving things around (but not making a mess, I might add.) She ignored me and headed down any ways. I heard her yelp and she came limping back, stung on her calf.

That is as far as I can remember. Any interpretations?? I read that dreaming of scorpions can equate to Scorpios but I'm the only Scorpio that I really know. Aside from me, I used to be schoolmates with a Scorpio girl, my best friend has a Scorpio cousin (whom she hangs around with every so often), and there is a Scorpio that caught me eye (wink wink.)

So, if the scorpion symbolizes a Scorpio, it must be someone I haven't met yet?

Who knows, perhaps your mom will start dating a Scorpio and be betrayed or hurt in some way.

Hmm, I can interpret it myself...like I'm not utterly clueless or anything, but dating...that's kinda interesting. She's not really up for dating right now if ever,

Curious; where did you get that from...?

Hey Scorpy ol boy!! Well, Dustys idea there is a good one. I woulda said it if he haddnt. But i thought of a diffrent answer for you.

Best i got is a reletive comes to stay, banging on your door. You dont like them there. Maybe your mom goes to tell the relation that they have over stayed their welcome... and you know, a family fight happens and your mom gets stung, emotionally?

Gah, that doesnt sound exactly like whats in my head.... but, you get the idea? Dustys version is better....

Maybe your sub-conscious is trying to confirm what you noticing in your waking life. Perhaps that dog represents the threat that you think your facing in your waking life but the real threat is the scorpion. The thing with dreams is everything is symbolic a scorpion could represent the infliction of pain from the unseen threat but perhaps if your mother isn't listening in the dream it could be a experience you all have to undertake. Scorpion=> Scorpio=> death, rebirth and transformation.

Secondly if she was stung in her calf that could represent physical mobility, it wasn't her heel therefore it wouldn't be her Achilles heel; her ultimate weakness. Nor was it her knees therefore it isn't something that will emotionally hinder her i.e. weak in the knees. So perhaps her calves represent inexperience in whatever situation. On a side note people in your dreams don't necessarily represent the actual people in your waking life all of the time. Your mother could represent another side of your personality; i.e. your more feminine/nurturing side of your personality this dreaming could just point towards the need for more individuality and development of merging both your feminine and masculine aspects of your personality and not fall prey to unseen dangers i.e. the scorpion but even if your are inflicted with pain by the scorpion is a lesson that needs to be learned.
