It was broad daylight and I was in a stores parking lot... suddenly it went dark and you could see the stars, but the stars were odd. I looked up at where the sun was and saw it flashing in the sky on and off again, green and blue mixed with white like veins running through it... and it was about double the size that it should be.

I thought, "But this is too early, the sun isn't suppose to explode yet. It's millions, maybe billions of years early!"

The sun came back but it was huge in the sky and rapidly getting larger. Then I woke up. My first thought when I woke up was, "Why was I still alive to be able to see it expand that far? Shouldn't it have gotten hot enough to kill me by the time the light reached me to see it?"

I posted this on my FB and a friend responded with:
"the path your on now, has broadened your horizons."

I'm wondering how accurate her interpretation is... because the interpretation seems pleasant, but there was very little pleasant about the dream.

I tend to believe "if" there is an infinite number of universes, when we dream we're seeing ourselves in those other universes... something about that disturbs me, I've seen myself die quite a few times in dreams past but something about watching the sun explode knocks at me to the core.

I sense that this dream felt threatening? Another world, life but something is about to explode. Were you alone in the dream?

Also reminded me of Icarus, got too close to the sun.

Interesting, wonder if other dreams or some time may clarify.

How do you perceive the sun? Let's say I'm a young child, and I don't know what the sun is... how would you explain it to me? Also, how do you explain it in astrology?

Blue and green, what are those colors to you? Any special personal significance?

I was alone in the dream. I mean, there were some people in the parking lot but I wasn't with any of them.

If you were a young child I would tell you the sun was a giant ball of plasma many many miles from Earth in space. Then I'd probably show you a few videos targeted to kids explaining the sun, space, and the heavenly bodies.

In Astrology, the Sun is your character or ego. Everything that you are has to go through it's filter before it can get out. My Sun also happens to be conjunct my Saturn... so... there's that.

As for the color's there's really no special significance. When I woke, because of those flashes, I thought that the dream had a hint of reality that I wouldn't have thought of if I tried to make it up... because blue and green are both indications of a hotter burning fire. Green tends to be my favorite color, the color of nature where I live, which looks wonderful against a bright blue sky... but other than that, no special feelings.

Just to note, when I'm stressed I dream of tornadoes. Always and only, which is why this dream perplexes me a little. I could have just been entertaining myself since the sun has been getting a lot of publicity with the eclipse and the venus transit... don't know. /shrug

Sorry this reply is late,...
How the dream opens up often deals with the underlying theme that the dream is touching on. You're in the parking lot of a store. I forgot to ask you what kind of store, so this will be a general interpretation, but usually stores are where we go to purchase something we need or want; they often symbolize the realm of desire within us. (Unless you have a particular, emotionally-charged, personal association with this store, then it could be something totally different... have a think about that!)
The parking lot is a place of being paused, kind of a feeling of not going anywhere in life--the word "store" could be a pun on that idea, too, because if something is "stored," it's not being used for its life purpose.
Around the time of this dream, your mind was probably working on ideas of "what do I need and want from life?" and this possibly brought up feelings of "being stuck in park," so to speak. When you touch on those feelings, your unconscious mind (darkness often represents things in the unconscious, things we are not fully aware of) reacts by kicking violently in the opposite direction-- an explosion is an OUTWARD moving force; it is anything but stuck in one place!
You have powerful emotions deep in the core of your identity that are burning, exploding, expanding. You are probably not fully aware of them yet, but the dream is telling you they are there, working their way out. This will initially feel like anger, since the dream chose a burning image. That's why you, Sashar, in the dream are watching this reaction and feeling threatened. You probably don't feel safe expressing your anger, at least not anger as strong as it's become inside of you! Because it's too early, it's too hot, it's dangerous!! The blue-green colors in the sun indicate the fire is extremely hot, as you said. As hot as it gets, that's how you are inside. We humans tend to avoid feeling our powerful emotions because it seems like they will kill us. That's why the dream can dress them up in such huge, dramatic imagery, like the very sun, itself--that's how scared you are of your own anger. And yet, there's also a feeling of inevitability to it, almost a fascination--oh, look the colors, look how odd the stars seem, and so on. At some level, you are beginning to accept your feelings, even though they are terrifying.

What you may know about anger is that it is never a primary emotion. It is always an emotion that masks a deeper, more primal emotion. You identify with the sun, astrologically, as your core identity, the filter through which your entire life expresses itself. This is a deep personal power inside you. The color green indicates a hot fire... but it also, for you, indicates a deep love (your favorite color), a connection with nature, a sense of "that's wonderful!" I believe that behind these feelings of anger are feelings of personal power and passion.
I would dare to suggest some advice: that you run INTO your feelings of anger, rather than away from them. Let them burn your entire body... It's scary at first, but it won't take too long before you will notice they have transformed into a deep sense of personal power, a connection with your true identity and passion for life, an expansiveness.
You can use your dream to help you do this, if you're having trouble with it in waking life. Place yourself, emotionally, back into the dream, and watch that sun as it explodes. Let yourself feel the terror--then the heat of it, which I'm predicting will feel like anger,-- then you become one with it--and it shines through you with a beautiful radiance. Put green around you in the visualization, since that is such a great color for you. Anytime you're going about your day and some anger arises, let it come through you until you connect with what's behind it, use your visualization if you need to. I'd say in about a month of doing this regularly you'll feel a lot better.
