Last night I had a dream I chewed on glass and it severed my tongue. I looked in the mirror to see a small tongue split like the people into body mods who get this done intentionally. In the dream it was a little sore.

I think this might be a warning dream about being careful with verbalising things with certain people. Sound right?

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place. -Kurt Vonnegut.

Was your tongue sore when you woke up? You could have bit your tongue while sleeping. But if not, it sounds like it is warning you to be careful who you confide in.

Hello SunChild

Yes, I think you are right. It is not only about who you verbalize things to, but what you are verbalizing. Be careful about what you say and how you say it.

I'm reminded of the Native American saying of people who speak with a forked tongue.
