1. First I dreamt I saw my old guy friend riding a bike at night, there was a lit porch to the side, and I was driving. Suddenly I'm jumping over a truck bed in the parking lot, and landing on top of my car while my guy friend watches from the porch and he's sipping a drink. And then I see my car sinking in the lake and there's a blonde curly haired lady hovering over me saying something.

2. I'm swimming in this lake of ice water and there's a house with (again) a lit front doorway, it's night time. I'm not uncomfortable in the ice water, but there's chunks of ice floating around me, I think I'm trying to carry someone/thing with me as I swim and it almost feels like I'm racing someone/something else. There's someone shaking a jewel encrusted box at me with an item inside (I couldn't make out what it was). There's also a person standing at the doorway wearing a fur coat and a fur hat, kind of like those Russian guys. It was also snowing, and I was basically swimming to reach the walkway that lead to the doorway.

The first dream I have no idea what it means, and the second one the first thought I had about it was "breaking the ice." Except I don't know what direction to take that in. My other friend told me how water represents emotions and that swimming in them meant I was drowning in mine, but for one I've felt fine the past week when I had that dream and two, I wasn't drowning. Also both these dreams were separate nights, but they have water, nighttime and a lit porch in common.

Help please?! Am offering thorough Tarot readings in return for thorough help.

Hello hannaramaa

Your friend is right, water very often represents emotions, but can represent unconscious material of various forms as well. True, you weren't drowning in one dream, but in the first dream your car was sinking which kind of means the same thing. It may be that you've felt fine recently, without emotional concerns, but these dreams are suggesting either emotional or other unconscious concerns. The key here is unconscious, which means stuff you are not consciously aware of. We know this because both dreams are at night, which represents unawareness, and because there is ice, which represents "frozen" emotional or unconscious energy. Energy which is "frozen" is generally pushed into the unconscious, awaiting future reactivation. This frozen energy is usually the result of an issue/situation that one does not want to deal with on a conscious level.

Your dreams suggest that there is emotional/unconscious energy stirring within, beginning to be reactivated and brought back into your waking consciousness. In this context, "breaking the ice" is a good description because that is what's happening. Something in your waking life has triggered this "ice breaking", which is what the lit porch represents. The lit porch in both dreams symbolize the beckoning by your unconscious mind to become aware of the energies which are awakening. Swimming in the water simply indicates the work being done on inner levels to make this happen.

Something in your life, a person, issue, situation, or even an object, has sparked within you an awakening of old, stored-away, unconscious energy, likely emotional in nature. While this energy may be difficult to deal with (carry someone/thing), your sub/unconscious self is encouraging you to pursue the awakening (racing something/reach lit doorway), hinting that there is great value (jewel encrusted box) in the pursuit, even if you don't know precisely where it will lead (item in box).

So the question is, what spawned this dream? The answer to this will help you to understand what is being awakened within you.

Within a few days prior to this dream did you see, read, hear, or think about something to which you had an emotional reaction, however slight, that could have roots connected with something difficult from your past? Or maybe a person, situation, issue, or object?

What do you think?

Seriously Ra! That was so impressive. Where did you learn to interpret dreams? Someday I would like to be able to interpret them at your level.

This was a week or so ago thus my memory isn't the greatest but I can tell you I've been a lot busier lately, and I've been trying to practice thinking with my heart instead of my mind. I'm pulled more towards the ice-breaking dream and think/wonder if it relates to me being more social. For a long time I had an inner anxiety about changes in my social life of any kind, and new friends and I've started letting that go and just enjoying people when they're there in the moment; not being afraid of the interaction. Something I just thought of was "isolation," but it may be a bit of a homophone - "ICE-olsation" and since the ice was breaking in that dream it means I'm becoming more social. Perhaps?

As for the first dream, the friend in that one is someone I have not seen in a long time (really we are no longer friends unfortunately, although there's no bitterness on my end.) but who meant a lot to me when he was in my life. He meant even more to my friend in real life who'd been discussing and thinking of him a lot lately. Sorry it doesn't really answer your question but I suppose that's why he appeared.
