Have a dream that's making me wonder about, well, what it was all about...

Seemed I was around a hot dog cart or something like that, outdoor area. The sky was blue throughout the whole dream, a nice sunny day. But then I see like a see-through screen and something akin to Pac-Man. Suddenly, I'm controlling it with my mind. The mazes are tight, compact, and have areas where Pac-Man could go up, down, right or left without walls blocking him at a few points. I quickly grab the power pill and control Pac-Man to eat all four ghosts (now blue).

I step away, feeling the threat has passed. And for some reason, the Pac-Man game's stakes felt high.

I remember seeing a woman holding a boy at this point in the dream, and the feel was that I knew this woman. (I don't know anyone like her in real life, so who knows.) As if she wanted me to come with her, and the boy was excited too, but I told her I had to take care of something. She told me to hurry.

I then ... I don't know if I was riding a large bird (like a Chocobo from Final Fantasy or a mount from World of Warcraft), or if I may in fact have been levitating at this point... but as I was going through the streets (which resembled San Francisco, but I didn't see the Golden Gate Bridge, but in retrospect it did seem a little hilly ahead, like I was about to start going down one)...

All of a sudden, shadows that looked like Scorpions start to show up. They were like dark, hazy shadows; not pitch black. I knew they weren't something to screw around with. I rode/flew tight around them, and got past.

Then I found another point, maybe another cart, with another maze for the Pac-Man game. This time a ghost made it through the tunnel so I only ate three of them. I felt compelled to move on.

Again, the Shadow Scorpions. This time, one latched on. It remained a hazy shadow, and the others were coming. I could feel a pain in my side as it was trying to bite through my belt on my left side. I instinctively swung my hand at the others still approaching and imagined like a beam of light or a sword in my mind, and though it didn't destroy them, it forced them to back off. The one that was still on me, I put my hand towards it (a risky move, considering it didn't even bother using its stinger yet), and started saying something... but in a different language. My mind recognized it as Angelic or Celestial in nature. In my mind's eye in the dream, I could see a beam of light starting to form in my hand, and start striking the Scorpion Shadow that was on me. It didn't immediately let go or dissipate. It continued its attack. I think before I woke up, I imaged another light beam in my hand and pretty much drilled the light ray into its head. It let go, but the others started closing in again. I woke up.

An impression I get on reflection is, there's places I need to go and things I need to do. The one task wasn't entirely successful in the dream (the second Pac-Man maze where one ghost escaped)... but the Scorpion Shadows...?? They were obviously there to impede my progress. The disturbing thing is, one actually latched on. I didn't feel a sense of familiarity with it either, but knew it was a threat.

I've been pretty agitated all day. The possibility of a nocturnal psychic attack has crossed my mind.

This is also the latest in recent dreams that (in retrospect anyways) involves me and a part of the West Coast. Again, San Fran comes to mind (though it was less defined in this one, it's the first city that makes sense from the layout of the houses and the upcoming hill I was about to go down). Could it be I'm being summoned?

Thoughts?

-- Edit: Something that may be significant would be the number of Scorpion Shadows in each encounter. In each encounter, if I recall correctly, there were four. There must be a significance to one ghost getting away in the second Pac-Man segment, and the one Scorpion Shadow of four successfully latching onto me.

Hello BlackSeraph

This is a pretty interesting dream and I do have some thoughts about it. I'll need a bit more time to give you a thought-out response.

I used to have frightening dreams about Scorpions when I was a child. Since you mention that they were shadows, I would definitely think that they might represent your shadow side.

( On a side note, It would be interesting to know what planets you have in Scorpio or what your Pluto is doing in your chart.)

I ask this because for me the scorpions in my dreams as a child turned out to be related to my North Node in Scorpio as well as the fact that my mother is a Scorpio. Moving forward and embracing my Plutonic side was one of the messages of my dream.

In your case, you can always read up on the scorpion as an animal totem and see what this creature means for you presently. It could be that the Scorpion is your shadow totem - a challenge you need to confront perhaps?

You could try Googling "scorpion animal totem" to see if anything resonates

I've determined awhile ago, actually, that Scorpion is one of my totems. Why it would attack me though...? Yet it was a bite, it didn't bother with the stinger at all.

In Scorpio, I have Ixion and Uranus conjunct, both opposite my Moon/Chiron.

Pluto lies in a stellium in Libra between Mars and Venus, with the Mars/Pluto midpoint (as tight as it is to Mars and Pluto) directly on fixed star Algorab (the Crow/Raven, and quite an incendiary star).

In 2014, transiting Pluto will form a Thor's Hammer (T. Pluto square T. Uranus, both sesquiquadrate my Sun on Regulus). I didn't see any date indicators in the dream, but if I had to estimate, I'd say the boy in the dream (being held by the woman) was maybe approximately 2 years old.

As far as the Scorpion totem, I found this as my first link, and it's very telling... http://www.manizone.co.uk/scorpion-animal-totem-a-34.html

This one also seemed pretty telling: http://paganinfo.wetpaint.com/page/Animal+Totems+S+-+U

Thinking on it, the woman sounded anxious in the dream when telling me to hurry back.

The sense I'm getting is that staying with them was more important than the important task (solving the mazes) I thought I also had to do. The scorpions didn't appear until I was on my way to the second cart/maze.

...The whole thing feels like a warning. Also, I'm certain the city was San Francisco on further reflection.

I've also been thinking the shadow scorpions could also reflect people around me who don't have my best interests at heart... ...I better not be about to be betrayed again.

I tend to think that if Scorpion is one of your totems then it's clearly there to give you a message. Is it one of your "regular" totems or one of your shadow totems?

Do you fear it in real life and/or in your dreams?

In any case, it was trying to get your attention. Only you will know from the feelings you had what the message might be. I tend to look within myself first and see what's happening there when I have these types of dreams, unless I know/feel strongly that they are precognitive dreams.

I noticed the pattern of "four" right away. Not only might it be significant, as I see it, it may be the most significant element of your dream.

There were four Scorpion Shadows, four ghosts, and four separate encounters - twice with Pac-Man/ghosts, and twice with the Scorpion Shadows. That's a lot of fours!

In dreams, four symbolizes the boundaries of your world and your place within them. It suggests that you are looking at these boundaries and assessing your position, which is why you got the impression of "there's places I need to go and things I need to do". That's precisely what the dream is saying.

And you are right, there is great significance in one ghost getting away and one Scorpion Shadow latching on. When one of four is emphasized, your unconscious mind is attempting to get your attention focused on the one aspect, as it has something to tell you about the development/growth of your boundaries, of your position, of your Self. In many cases, the one of the four represents your Shadow, as Sorcha pointed out, which is the part of yourself that you do not want to acknowledge, that which you fear, that which can hold you back if not liberated or incorporated into your waking consciousness. In your dream we are looking at a ghost and a Scorpion Shadow, both of which are quite literally, shadows.

In your first encounter with the ghosts and Scorpions, you succeed in your "mission". This represents the reality you see in your minds-eye, the potential you wish to realize, the obstacles you overcome, the shadows you vanquish.

In your second encounter with each, we see represented that which holds you back, that part of yourself which is keeping you from "places I need to go and things I need to do". You are indeed being summoned, but it's your own inner calling, not a source from without. There is indeed a nocturnal psychic attack, but it's the night-side of your own psyche, your Shadow Self, from where the attack comes. There is "no sense of familiarity with it" because that is the essence of its nature.

The question is, what is this Shadow Aspect of yourSelf? Its very nature makes it very difficult to see, much less to accept and assimilate. And the Shadow needn't necessarily be negative energy to negate, such as greed or self-centeredness, it can just as easily be a positive attribute to embrace, such as compassion, humility, or self-sacrifice. Whether a positive or negative, it has long been cast into the darkness of your self, long buried within the psyche, and is now calling out for the light of your awareness to be shone upon it. Your acknowledgement can release the Gift of the Shadow which is a step toward wholeness, a filling of a void created by the absence of that which was cast out. You will then find the path to "there's places I need to go and things I need to do" a much easier and hospitable road to travel.

Sorry, I didn't plan on a sermon here … guess the spirit moved me.

Anyway, look to future dreams for clues to the identity of your Shadow.

What do you think? Make any sense?
