was the child healthy, happy or sad, unkempt? the appearance of the child overall will indicate the meaning. the unkown aspect would point to an unkown variable in waking life. An idea or person that is yet to come into play.

I have dreamt things very similar, and could find no real reason for it.

In your case, I'm guessing you are just curious about the life and everything about the person you are involved with. It would be very natural to wonder about a child, I know I would.
