Hello TheDude
I think both of these dreams are directly related to your new job and certain conflicting emotions that have arisen because of it.
In the first dream the large, black hand belongs to your Shadow Self, the darker, less known or expressed part of you. This leads you to the child, who represents a part of you as well, alluding to the depth of the unconscious material being stirred up. Night, sleeping in your parent's bedroom, noises, stolen furniture, chasing thieves, building security … all of these symbols indicate that the unconscious material welling up within is all about insecurity. The dream suggests you may not recognize it as such just yet, but it is there.
Are you concerned about changes in your life or responsibilities that may occur because of your new job?
The second dream is quite different and needs little explanation. This dream is a reflection of all the good feelings you have about the new job. You are excited and happy, like a kid in a candy store (you are 12-13). You've "graduated" to a new phase (old school/teachers) and are ready to conquer the world (Viking costume). You are proud of yourself and happy.
As I said, these two dreams reflect and represent feelings that are opposed to each other, conflicting, but quite natural, I'd say.
What do you think?
