No idea what it means in dreams but in real life if you forget a shoe or the pair and someone steals it or even if someone takes yours by mistake and goes with it then your negativities/dangers befall that person to some extent.

I read online somewhere that shoes in dreams have to do with position. Depending on the type of shoe. To lose a shoe is to lose position. You might have been "fired" or "lowered" and you might feel embarrassed about it.
