I've had two pretty disturbing dreams involving my mom recently.
One was just me staring at her and seeing her face and seeing that her nose was sort of deteriorating into something not human. And she just smiled at me.
The feeling that accompanied the dream was so disturbing and real that for the past couple weeks it would creep up behind me and I would have images of it...

The second dream was me and my mother outside of my childhood home. I am holding a puppy in my arms in a cloth. My mother who is sort of smiling without emotion walks over and hits the puppy. A feeling of complete shock and helplessness comes over me. I back away and try to explain that she's hurting the dog. She does it again. Now blood appears on the white cloth. She continues to do it and I cannot stop her. Later on we are walking down my childhood street. I am still holding the puppy. This is the most disturbing part. It has now become a tiny skeleton. Not even that of a dog. Just basically a shriveled bone looking thing. But I'm carrying it as if it's still possible for it to be alive and I'm feeling like it is possible as well. For the rest of the dream I am carrying this thing in the cloth...
very disturbing.

Hello bridgetostars

Very disturbing indeed.

There is some kind of emotional pain and hurt concerning your mother that you are having a very hard time releasing. In fact, it is so difficult that you have somewhat unconsciously removed your emotional self from the full force of it, which is why the dog is being injured and not you. The dog probably represents the injured aspect of yourself.

Does this make sense to you?

Hi bridgetostars -

I recall having regularly recurring dreams that my mom was Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th movies, and she was trying to kill me. Seriously, LOL. She never succeeded, but it was disturbing to say the least, esp. since it wasn't a one-off dream.

The dreams eventually stopped, and I'm not exactly sure about why I kept having them, but I recall them occurring during a time when I was younger (umm, late teens/early 20s,I think), when she and I did not have the best relationship. Don't know if you and your mom are going through a tough time or not, but thought I'd mention this anyway. Hopefully, you can get what you need from them soon, and they'll stop coming around.
