There's someone in my life who I'll describe as a frenemy. We're not on speaking terms. Last week for the first time they showed in my dreams.

~~~~
It's just the two of us and I'm helping them assemble a treasure chest (a bronze color). Then I take one end they the other, as we fetch the chest between buildings. Suddenly we come upon a barrier. I suggest we sit the chest on the ground while I go find something to make hoisting the chest over the barrier easier.
As I turn to go look for the object, frenemy lifts the chest all by themself, with ease, over the barrier. At this moment I realized my help wasn't necessary. I didn't bother trying to catch up with them...then I woke up.
Can anyone tell what was in that chest from the dream? Or what the dream/frenemy is trying to tell me?
Usually one talks to a frenemy. How bad is the rift?
It's a rift made of stubborn resistance. Frenemy has built a wall around themselves, but wants me to break it down and capture them. I want them to dismantle it themselves and invite me in.
Hello Nine
The dream kind of reflects the dynamic of the relationship. It's a give-and-take, where you feel you are doing all the giving and frenemy is doing all the taking.
You say you want frenemy to dismantle the walls, yet I find it ironic that in the dream you are helping fenemy to assemble walls, of a sort. What does this say? Perhaps there is something more valuable in this relationship than you are aware of (treasure chest)?
In the dream you realized your help wasn't necessary … this must mean something. Perhaps you are trying too hard to be "frenemies"? Perhaps frenemy isn't the olny one being stubborn?
After this dream new RL info came to light. Frenemy & BFF had a falling out. No third party would tell me what caused it. I was hoping the answer might be in the chest.
In RL there is building X and building Y. In the dream I help them assemble the chest in building Y, then fetch it to building X. It was in the courtyard of building X that we came upon the barrier, and I stepped back & didn't follow.
In RL, all the drama took place in building X where we congregate. Since the dream circumstances have caused frenemy to spend much time in building Y.
